Planet Earth is our home, and people are damaging it, ignoring the consequences of their actions .
The planet is home to millions of species of life, including humans. It means that the damage they
cause affects everything. The human perspective regarding the Earth is widely viewed from a
globally integrated perspective. This is reflected in a growing environmental movement that is
concerned about humankinds effects on the planet. There are serious environmental issues we
are facing. Ignorance may be bliss, but its getting increasingly difficult to ignore the damage we
are doing to the environment, especially when we see and feel the effects so close to us. These are
some of the biggest environmental threats that mother Earths and consequently society is facing:
a) Climate Change; b) deforestation; c) Pollution; d) Loss of diversity; e) Melting Polar Ice-Caps and
Rising Sea Levels; f) Oceanic Dead Zones; g) Explosive population Growth.
El planeta Tierra es nuestro hogar, y la gente lo est daando, ignorando las consecuencias de
sus acciones. El planeta es el hogar de millones de especies de vida, incluyendo los seres
humanos. Significa que el dao que causan afecta todo. La perspectiva humana con respecto a la
Tierra se ve ampliamente desde una perspectiva globalmente integrada. Esto se refleja en un
creciente movimiento ambiental que se preocupa por los efectos de la humanidad en el planeta.
Hay graves problemas ambientales que estamos enfrentando. La ignorancia puede ser felicidad,
pero cada vez es ms difcil ignorar el dao que estamos haciendo al medio ambiente,
especialmente cuando vemos y sentimos los efectos tan cerca de nosotros. Estas son algunas de
las mayores amenazas ambientales que la madre Tierra y por consiguiente la sociedad enfrenta:

Global warming is the increase in the average temperature of Earths atmosphere and oceans.

primarily caused by increasing concentrations of greenhouse gases produced by human activities
such as the burning of fossil fuels and deforestation. Most countries are Parties to the United
Nations Framework Convention on climate change. The final objective of the Convention is to
prevent dangerous human interference of the climate system.
