and balconies. On the ground, there are herbs and petals, and the smell is wonderful.
At the noon, the bells of Toledo start to ring, and the procession begins. First, a group
of giants appear representing the different continents. Then, the religious orders leave
the cathedral and march in the city streets with the beautiful gold and silver
monstrance.

2. It takes place every four years, during the months of June or July. The tabuleiros carried
by girls in the procession are decorated with Holy Spirit symbols: the pigeon and the
crown. Houses are decorated for the occasion with quilts and flowers hanging from the
verandas. Streets are decorated with paper flowers covering everything and also

4. All Saints' Day and All Souls Day are accompanied by the beautiful tradition of decorating
cemeteries with thousands of glowing candles. On this night, the worlds of the living and
the dead come closer to one another. Poles honour their deceased family and friends
with memories, church services, and, of course, the flickering candles that brighten
graveyards all over Poland.

5. Sinterklaas has arrived on his boat with his chimney and blacker Piets from Spain to the
Netherlands each November, accompanied by many helpers: men and women, with black

horse Amerigo, and the parade continues through the streets. He's always accompanied
by his band of merry helpers.

English Worksheets: Celebrating

English Worksheets: Celebrating

On tenth of April it was my thirteenth birthday! I had a fantastic party.

I invited all my friends from school. Not all of them could come, but at least most of them
came. They brought me beautiful presents: a T-shirt from my favourite singer, a book and
some bracelets.
My mum and dad prepared tasty sandwiches and beverages.
We ate nearly all of it. And then we danced with the music we liked. We laughed and
shouted as we were really happy.
The party finished very late almost twelve at night. I was lucky as there was no school
next day.
My friends and I had an excellent time. I will always remember this day.
