Project Title Major Project

Section 1: Review (Approx 150 words)

I have worked with a range of media and techniques over the last seven units, and
although I like to work with traditional media, I prefer to work digitally when creating
artwork, as it is easier to edit and remove mistakes. I mostly prefer to use mudbox or
photoshop as it I feel it allows me to be more creative with my characters. I have a
keen interest in cartoon style drawings. The clean lines and bold colour appeal to me.
This year I have been influenced by the work of Pendleton Ward, and his work for
adventure time, Liz Climos work for the Simpsons and Walt Disneys early work. I
hope to explore this style of artwork further within my project. I feel that this style
also plays to my strengths as an illustrator, as I dont feel that I have yet developed
the skills with realistic drawing styles.

Section 2: Project Concept (approx 250 words)

My project theme will be centred around mythological and fantasy, as well as some
futurism elements. I will research these contexts and a range of artists within these
contexts. I hope to be inspired by some book characters, as well as generating ideas
of my own through research. I hope to produce a poster for a game. Ideally this will
be something abstract with bold colours, influenced by the cartoonist styles
mentioned above. I will also produce a character and a piece of weaponry using
mudbox to sculpt these.
The reason that I am centring my project on mythological, fantasy and futurism is
because I have a keen interest in this area. Some of the key influences I will consider
will be things like Ark survival evolved because it has quite an abnormal concept.
When I think of my ideas I consider the world and how they will fit in to it. I find things
like Lord of the Rings, D&D, Halo, Rick And Morty, The Witcher, World of Warcraft,
Skyrim, Game Of Thrones and Propaganda is good for inspirational ideas like cloaks,
sword, armour etc. (I believe I will be using Game Of Thrones, Lord Of The Rings,
Transformers and Skyrim as main inspirations at least the fantasy side, but I do
believe that once I start researching my Inspirations I will find other good influences).
Although not a style Daft Punk is quite good inspiration as it combines the future with
the present.

Section 3: Evaluation (approx 100 words)

I will be evaluating my work once a week every Friday either on a word document or
on my weebly page with the latter being more likely, I will be doing this every Friday
as it helps me to document my work and its progress easier as it will be more fresh in
my memory instead of doing all of it at the very end. I am doing this mainly because
in my last course it proved to be more efficient so it has been proven to me to work.
