A refugee is someone who has been forced to flee his or her country because of

persecution, war, or violence. A refugee has a well-founded fear of persecution for reasons
of race, religion, nationality, political opinion or membership in a particular social group. Most
likely, they cannot return home or are afraid to do so. War and ethnic, tribal and religious
violence are leading causes of refugees fleeing their countries. The chart shows the number
of people forcibly displaced at the end of 2014 had risen to a staggering 59.5 million
compared to 51.2 million a year earlier and 37.5 million a decade ago. The report prepared
by United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) which is a United Nations
programme mandated to protect and support refugees from the whole world. Globally, one in
every 122 humans in the world is now either a refugee, internally displaced, or seeking
asylum. Today, I will introduce you to the three factor why people become refugees.

(Transition: Lets look more at the first factor.)

Firstly, the main factor that contribute the total numbers og refugees is warfare. Syria
is the worlds biggest producer of both internally displaced people and refugees . At the end
of 2014, Syria have 11.48 million of refugees. The conflic of Syria begin from disputes
between sunni muslim and shia muslim. People uprising to agaist Penduduk sunni
menentang kekejaman yg dilakukan oleh kerajaan yg dipimpin oleh mazhab syiah. This
country very interesting because they are led by the minority which is shia Muslim. Finally,
the uprising to agaist violent become civil war in the country. War become worst when
Russia and Islamic State of Iraq and Syria intervene in this conflict. In addition, most of
refugees are chlidren which are lost their parent during the war. The report from UNHCR
stated that half of the refugees are chlidren. They are still trauma and unstabil emotional
because they need to continue their live without their beloved parents.

Next, persecution from the government also contribute to the number of refugees.
Myanmar also known as Burma is the country have give worst treat to the certain ethnic. A
government led by majority Buddhists has denied citizenship to about 1 million Rohingyas.
Government claiming they are immigrants from Bangladesh, though many have lived in the
country for generations. Rohingya, a Muslim ethnic group from western Myanmar's Rakhine
state is the victim of ethnic violence. A few violence by the government include kill the
people, burn the mosque and burn the house. The Rohingnya take a dangerous action with
run away from their country through sea. Thier popular country for refugees to migrat are
Thailand, Indonesia and Malaysia. But, they have difficulties to enter these country because
of strict procedure. They should wait for a long time on a boat without any food and water.
Lastly, the last factor why people become refugees is food insecurity. South Sudan is
the country has the largest number of refugees. 2.5 million people facing the food insecurity
and nearly 2 million forced to leave their home. From the 2 million, 1.4 million displaced
inside their own country and 330 thousand of those are children. Chlidren get the big impact
from this crisis such as 1 in 2 children in South Sudan lack of nutrition. Many of chlidren died
because of critical food insecurity. Government failed to overcome this crisis because they
are also have initial problems like corruption. Other country that have same crisis are Kenya,
Somalia, Nigeria and Democratic Republic of the Congo. The location of these country also
give the effect to the food insecurity.

We as a Malaysian live in a peace country, we can help them with a few ways. The
arising of Non-Government Organization (NGO) for refugees can help us to donate at the
right place. The example of Non-Government Organization (NGO) are Mercy Malaysia,
Muslim Care and Save Syiria. We should take the Europe country as example because they
accept the refugees to live their country. Turkey, Germany and France are the large country
receive refugees especialy from Syria. I hope my audience will take all my point as an
example and espire yourself to be more thankfull what you had now.

I never know much about the refugees until i mmet someone who come to me to ask a
donation to refugees in Syria.

After doing research for this speech, I realize that refugees always need support from the
outside to continue their live.
