Year 2 Got Wet!!
Year 2 visited Forest School this w eek and enjoyed
getting themselves (and Mr s Lonergan/Mrs Ellis) very
wet. There was plenty of energetic jumping in
puddles accompanied by fire m aking, pencil making
and hot chocolate drinking.

Chteau de la Baudonnire
Many of our children from Years 4 to 6 are enjoying
their week o f complete French immersion at the
beautiful Chteau de la Baudonnire. Alongside a
wonderful opportunity for the children to use their
French in real-life situations, the activities are
proving a real challenge.

Staff CPD Debating

Continuing Professional Development is important Years 4 and 5 are have sp ent some sessions this term
in all professions and none more so than in with Mr Hardwick (and Mrs Roberts) learning about
schools, as we strive to keep up to date with the debating. Mrs Roberts has vast experience of deb ating
latest teaching techniques and ensure the children within both primary and secondary schools and is
at Bronte School receive the best education helping us launch this exciting new project we ar e
possible. To this end, we were joined by Helen very grateful to her for giving up her time.
Lewington (the Director of Mediawatch-UK) who
delivered training to school staff about how to build
digital resiliance. Many social networking platforms
were discussed and how we can keep up to date
with the ever changing landscape for our digitally-
savvy children.

Next term current Y4 and Y5 children will be able to

sign up to a lunchtime club where they will continue to
learn the differ ent roles and rules of d ebating, leading
to a formal Oxbridge style debate in front of parents.
Skills of oratory and deb ate have b een at the forefront
of the news during the last few w eeks as the country
prepares for the snap election, and w e therefore
want to ensure Bronte children are properly prepared
for any path that may lie in their future even politics!
