Montague Crashes Capulet Masque

Verona- On the fine evening of Sunday
June 1st, Romeo of the Montagues and his
fellow friend Benvolio crashed Capulets
masque in hopes of having some fun. When
Tybalt of the Capulets became aware of the
intruders presence, Tybalt was quick to
pick up his sword. However, Capulet
prevented the likely battle at the ball, to
which many other Veronesi attended.
The night at the Capulet house was
alive as people pranced around in their fine
apparel and luxurious visage. Many made
mark of the beautiful setting, for which
Lady Capulet received much praise.
As the night progressed, things
almost took a turn to the dark side
June 5th 1349
Tybalt soon became aware of
Romeos presence by the voice he heard
projecting from behind the others masque. A
street brawl between the two families which
previously occured caused further quarrelling
to be punishable by death. Despite this,
Tybalt was ready to slay Romeo to defend
and honour his family name. Capulet was
able to forbear a huge outbreak by ordering
Tybalt to withdraw his sword, and spare the
gentle young man his life.
Veronesi continued to have a ball and
thus were unaware of the short lived dispute.
Juliet, daughter of host Capulet made an
appearance as well. She was seen interacting
with many, and having a word with Romeo.
I encouraged my fellow friend Romeo
to attend the masque with the purpose of
brightening his dim spirits. I warrant we
forsooth hadth no intent to offend the Capulets,
and were unaware of Tybalts disapproval. We
hope we have not left them bitter, said
Benvolio after the event.
That night the peace between the
families was kept, however the long lived feud
continues. The night was a success and a very
memorable one at that. Stay tuned for more
