The Argument
As the true method of knowledge is
experiment the true faculty of knowing
must be the faculty which experiences.
This faculty I treat of.
PRINCIPLE I
That the Poetic Genius is the true Man,
and that the body or outward form of
Man is derived from the Poetic Genius.
Likewise that the forms of all things are
derived from their Genius, which by the
Ancients was call'd an Angel & Spirit &
Demon.
PRINCIPLE II
As all men are alike in outward form,
So (and with the same infinite variety)
all are alike in the Poetic Genius
PRINCIPLE III
No man can think write or speak from
his heart, but he must intend truth. Thus
all sects of Philosophy are from the
Poetic Genius adapted to the
weaknesses of every individual.

El Argumento
Como el verdadero mtodo del
conocimiento es la experiencia, la
verdadera facultad del conocer debe ser
la facultad que experimenta. Esta es la
facultad de la que yo trato.
PRINCIPIO I
Que el Genio Potico es el Hombre
verdadero, y que el cuerpo o forma
externa del Hombre se deriva del Genio
Potico. Asimismo, que las formas de
todas las cosas son derivadas de su
Genio, el cual era llamado por los
Antiguos: ngel, Espritu o Demonio.
PRINCIPIO II
Tal como todos los hombres son
semejantes en la forma exterior, As (y
con la misma variedad infinita) todos
los hombres son semejantes en el Genio
Potico.
PRINCIPIO III
Ningn hombre puede pensar escribir o
hablar desde su corazn, pero debe
tender a la verdad. Por lo tanto todas las
sectas de la Filosofa provienen del
Genio Potico adaptado a la debilidad
de cada individuo.
 PRINCIPLE IV
As none by traveling over known lands
can find out the unknown, So from
already acquired knowledge Man could
not acquire more; therefore an universal
Poetic Genius exists.
PRINCIPLE V
The Religions of all Nations are derived
from each Nations different reception of
the Poetic Genius, which is every where
call'd the Spirit of Prophecy.
PRINCIPLE VI
The Jewish & Christian Testaments are
An original derivation from the Poetic
Genius. This is necessary from the
confined nature of bodily sensation.
PRINCIPLE VII
As all men are alike (tho' infinitely
various), So all Religions, &, as all
similars, have one source. The true Man
is the source, he being the Poetic Genius
PRINCIPIO IV
Tal como ninguno por viajar en tierras
conocidas puede averiguar lo
desconocido, As por conocimiento ya
adquirido el Hombre no puede adquirir
ms; por lo tanto, un Genio Potico
universal existe.
PRINCIPIO V
Las Religiones de todas las Naciones se
derivan de la recepcin que cada Nacin
hace del Genio Potico, que en todas
partes es llamado Espritu de la
Profeca.
PRINCIPIO VI
Los Testamentos Judo y Cristiano son
Una derivacin original del Genio
Potico. Esto es necesario por la
naturaleza limitada de la sensacin
corporal.
PRINCIPIO VII
Tal como todos los hombres son
semejantes (aunque infinitamente
diferentes), As todas las Religiones, y,
afines, tienen una fuente: El verdadero
Hombre es la fuente, siendo l el Genio
Potico.
