DRAV 2016 VIGYAAN QUIZ

Preliminary Round
1. 15 questions will be provided to each team.
2. The questions will be displayed on the screen.
3. Each question carries equal weightage of 1 mark.
4. No negative marks.
5. 30 seconds will be provided to answer each question.
6. Top five teams will be selected for the finals based on this round.
7. In case of a tie, the team with the first 5 correct consecutive answers with be
selected.
Top five teams advance to the Finals and the rest are placed in the Danger Zone.

FINALS
Round 1 (Direct Questions)
1. Questions are asked and simultaneously displayed on the screen.
2. There will be total of 6 questions.
3. Each question has a weightage of 5 points.
4. The contestants are supposed to answer the questions within 30 seconds.
5. Passing is not allowed.
6. Questions unanswered by the finalists will be directed towards the contestants in the
Danger Zone and they are supposed to write their answers on the sheets provided.
7. The team in Danger Zone having the maximum number of points gets in the finals as
the sixth team.
8. In any case, the score for the sixth team is made equivalent to that of the least
scoring finalist.
9. In case of a tie, the sixth team will be decided on the basis of a tie breaker.
Round 2 (Audio-Visual Round)
1. Questions will be read out and simultaneously displayed on the screen along with the
corresponding Audio/Visual.
2. There will be a total of 6 questions.
3. Each question carries an equal weightage of 10 points.
4. Passing is allowed. If not passed, then the question automatically passes onto the next
contestants.
5. Each Team has a maximum of 1 minute to answer their own questions while the
passed teams will get only 15 seconds.

Round 3 (Clue Round)


1. There will be total of 6 questions in this round.
2. A question will be accompanied by 3 clues of gradually decreasing difficulty.
3. The first clue will be displayed along with the question.
4. The subsequent clues will be displayed on the contestants demand.
5. Answering the question correctly on the first clue offers 15 points; on the second clue
offers 10 points; and on the third clue offers 5 points.
6. Passing is not allowed.

Round 4 (Questions for the Lot)


1. The students are to pick a topic from a lot randomly (they wont see the topic prior to
selecting it).
2. TWO Questions of easy and moderate difficulties will be asked to the teams based on
the topic selected.
3. Answering the first question (easy) offers 5 points while answering the second
question (hard) offers 10 points.
4. The teams answering both questions correctly are given a bonus of 5 points (extra).
5. Each team gets 30 seconds to answer the easy question while they get 1 minute to
answer the moderate ones.
6. No passing is allowed.
Round 5 (Grand Slam)
1. Each teams get 5 questions of increasing difficulty.
2. No Passing.
3. The points scheme is as below:
Question 1:- 5 points - 30 seconds
Question 2:- 10 points - 45 seconds
Question 3:- 15 points - 60 seconds
Question 4:- 20 points - 75 seconds
Question 5:- 25 points - 90 seconds
4. A team can proceed to the next question, only if they answer the previous one
correctly.

The Team with the maximum points at the end of Round 5, will be declared the winners of
VIGYAAN 2016.

The Quizmasters decision will be final in case of any dispute.
