ASSESSMENT GUIDE

COC 1: INSTALL AND CONFIGURE COMPUTER SYSTEMS

TIME ALLOTED: 2 HOURS

A. Disassemble/Assemble Computer System

B. Prepare Installer (Windows 7 or Windows Server)

Create .ISO image file of given operating system using PowerISO
Create bootable USB Flash Drive using Rufus

C. Install the Software

Install the Operating System using bootable USB Flash Drive
Install the device drivers (Ex. MoBo Installer)
Install Application Software (MS Office or Google Chrome)
COC 2: SET-UP COMPUTER NETWORKS

TIME ALLOTED: 2.5 HOURS

A. Perform Network Cabling Management/Cable Splicing using

Straight Through B Cable

B. Set-up Network Configuration

C. Configure Wireless Router using Server Computer

Reset the router
Linksys Router Access: Default Gateway: 192.168.1.1
User Name: admin
Password: admin
Change Network Name (SSID): Write your Surname
Configure Wireless Security: minimum of 8 characters

D. Configure Client PC
Change Computer Name: Write your Surname
Configure Wireless Connection & connect to the Server PC

E. Wireless MAC Filter

Prevent Client PC from accessing wireless network connection
from the Server PC
COC 3: SET-UP COMPUTER SERVERS

TIME ALLOTED: 1.5 HOURS

A. Create Peer to Peer Networks

B. Configure Server
Install and Configure Active Directory Domain Services (ADDS)
Domain Name: Surname
Install Domain Name Services (DNS)
Install Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP)
Install Files Services, Etc.
C. Create DHCP (IP Scope)
D. Create User Log On
E. Make a Group Policy Management
GPO Name: Firstname
F. Folder Redirection
Configure folder on Local Disk D: of Server
Redirect the Desktop of Client PC
G. Remote Desktop
Client to Server
H. Printer Sharing
Install printer on the Server PC
I. Test Print
Open a notepad on Client PC then type the 4 Core Units of
Competencies of CSS NC II, Save on Client Desktop
Filename: your Surname
Print your text document from Client PC to Servers Printer
J. Testing of Folder Redirection

Assign IP Address of Server PC to Client PC
Folder Redirection
Printer Sharing
Remote Desktop
COC 4: MAINTAIN and REPAIR COMPUTER SYSTEMS and
NETWORKS

TIME ALLOTED: 1 HOUR

The following task will be performing using the Client PC

A. Create Back Up or System Image

Save your back up or system image on Local Disk D:
