STATEMENT OF PURPOSE

I am Sheikh Jaber Al Meezan, son of Mohammed Abdul Mannan. I have completed my GEC O Level from
Mastermind International School, Chittagong, Bangladesh and two years of Diploma in IT from Premier University
Of Technology, Dhaka, Bangladesh. My aim is to become a successful Software Engineer and lead the changes in
the sector of the information technology.

I want to study computing to bring a positive difference around the world. Computing and computer technology
are part of just about everything that touches our lives from the cars we drive, to the movies we watch, to the
ways businesses and governments deal with us. Studying computing will provide me with valuable knowledge, it
will enable me to solve complex, challenging problems. It requires and develops capabilities in solving deep,
multidimensional problems requiring imagination and sensitivity to a variety of concerns. It also offers variety of
lucrative careers. Computing jobs are among the highest paid and have the highest job satisfaction.

Studying in Australia is the best option chosen by me and my parents. As Australia is a dynamic and vibrant country
with friendly and professional people with leading world class universities and teachers, including quality courses
which provide excellent learning and research environment. Being the third most popular international study
destination and good international student prospect, Australias seven universities have achieved the position at
the set of top hundred universities around the world.

I want to go to Melbourne city rather than any other city in Australia because till now Melbourne is named worlds
most livable city for four straight years. It ranked top in all different sectors like education, healthcare, sports,
infrastructure, etc. The job opportunities in Melbourne are higher than other major cities and also the living expense
is less.

After searching all the universities of Australia online, I have come to know La Trobe University as the right option
for me overall. La Trobe University is one of the leading universities in Australia and it is situated in Melbourne. I
saw the reviews and feedbacks from current students and also Graduates about the courses they are currently
studying or have studied. On the Internet I also saw how International students are being welcomed here at La Trobe
and how helpful the teachers are. Besides my financial state complements the expenses for La Trobe Universitys
under graduation course and Foundation course, which I think is affordable for International students who are
planning to study in top ranking universities in Australia. Thus, this made La Trobe University the apt choice for me
overall.

I would like to add that I also have knowledge about computer and also know a few fundamentals from my previous
academic course on Information Technology and other subjects. I, therefore, will be in complete harmony with the
foundation course for 'Engineering and Computer Science' because of my conversion to the desired graduation
course and familiarity with some of the basic knowledge about the things Im going to cover in my foundation
course in La Trobe Melbourne for my under graduation course which is 'Computer Science'

My results qualify me to get enrolled for the Foundation Studies Program (FSP) in Computer Science. After
completing the course I will continue my Bachelors in Computer Science and I hope all these above courses will
help me gain an overall technical and communication skill which will enhance my knowledge and help me fulfill my
career goal in the IT sector.

My father who is the sponsor of my study expenses is also fully conscious about the required tuition fees for the
course that I will be given and all other essential costs to complete my entire study period in Australia. All other
members in my family have full support on my decision on taking higher education from Australia.
After completing my Bachelors, I would like to join in a well reputed company on whatever field in Computer
Engineering I will be expert at. I believe that this undergraduate course will take me to the right path and help me
complete my first step as a successful person at both home and abroad.

I sincerely hope that the admission committee will consider my application well suited for the Foundation Studies
Program (FSP) in Computer Science. I also believe that my days in Australia will be full of new and memorable
experiences.
