Conversion to appropriate file format

Logo:

After creating my Logo in Photoshop I exported it as a .PNG file because I knew that I would
be manipulating the size of it when going on to create my A3 poster and also the Album
cover. I also believe that .PNG is best format for me to publish my logo as because of that
reason alone.
If I wanted to use this my logo for a website or to use it on a video editing software like
Aftereffects to then also be published on to a website or other websites such as YouTube,
Facebook. I would not have to think about changing the image format because it does not
matter where I use it because it will not suffer from pixilation when having to be resized.
A GIF is a much better file format for graphics, which are made up of line drawings and
limited palette images. The gif type file is pronounce as a JIFF, this type of file format, which
is not the format that you would chose for most photographs. GIF file formats are best for
images, which are flat image, which have limited colours and crisp details. Images, which are
best suited for storing in the GIF format, are line art, charts, graphic text and images with
areas of a solid colour. GIFs are mostly used for animation so although a .GIF file is a viable
alternate it is still not a good as a .PNG for the case of using a logo.
A GIF is a short animation type of image files where you chain a number of Bitmap/Raster
images together to form a short animation. .GIF animation files allows you to use a palette of
up to 256 different colours from the 24-bit RBG (Red, Blue, and Green) colour space, this is
good for more simple images such as a company logo for example. .GIF image files are
compressed using Lossless compression (LZW), which reduces the size of the .GIF file
without losing any visual quality at all! This compression technique was created in 1985, 2
years before the .GIF file was created in 1975.
.JPEG, (Joint Photographic Experts Group) is one of the most common types of image files
you will come across, they normally achieve a 10:1 compression which is low Loss
compression, meaning that when compressed the image will lose little quality. .JPEG image
files are the most common image file used for digital cameras and other devices, which can
also capture images also .JPEG images are normally the type of image file you will find on
websites and across the World Wide Web.

A3 poster:

After creating my A3 poster in Photoshop I exported it as a .PNG file because I knew that I
would be manipulating the size of it when going on to create my A3 poster and also the
Album cover. I also believe that .PNG is best format for me to publish my logo as because of
that reason alone. However, I could have exported it as a .JPEG file because I will not be
resizing this poster for any other reason in the future, so I could save and print as .JPEG on
A3 paper and it would not suffer from any pixilation.
If I wanted to use this my A3 Poster for a website or to use it on a video editing software like
Aftereffects to then also be published on to a website or other websites such as YouTube,
Facebook. I would not have to think about changing the image format because it does not
matter where I use it because it will not suffer from pixilation when having to be resized.
