Asyouknow,substantialfeedbackwascollectedonSenateBill427attheSenateandHouseTransportationCommittees
JointHearingonHighlyAutomatedVehicles(HAV)TestingonMarch21,2017.

WeevaluatedthefeedbackandpreparedaDRAFTamendmenttobeginresolvingissuespositedbyourextensive
networkofstakeholders.

Afewweeksago,weconvenedaninformationalmeetingwiththetestifiersfromtheJointHearing(whowereableto
attend)toreviewtheDRAFTamendment.

Eventhoughthisinformationalmeetingwasproductive,challengesremainedwithidentifyingthebestlegislative
frameworkforHAVtestinginPennsylvania.

Wewillcontinuetoassessthefeedbackreceived,holdstakeholdermeetings,reviewalternativeapproaches,etc.
throughoutthesummertime.

HAVtesting(anddeployment)isasignificantlegislativeendeavor,andmoretimeisneededtoworkonthelegislationto
ensuretheissuesofsafety,liability,economicdevelopment,etc.areaddressed.
