The Importance of Early Childhood

Education

Early Childhood Education:

Early childhood covers the first eight years in the life of a person. The knowledge
gained during these formative years plays an important role and helps in the right
development of the child. Early education can essentially be termed as "gaining
knowledge through play".

Studies have displayed that the initial years in a childs life are significant because
during this phase their brain starts to develop. The relationships and education
experiences they have along with consuming a good diet can affect their mental
growth tremendously.

Development of the right brain skills:

Several experts in diverging fields believe that earlier parents bring in their children
to learn the right brain skills and enhance their intuitive and imaginative side, the
more efficient their brains become to grasp advanced concepts.

Social awareness:

Early childhood is an important phase, with children gaining a sense of self and
learning to connect themselves with everyone around them. They develop
behaviours and an understanding of things. Due to this, it is important that the kids
are exposed to learning about the world and their environment in a playful manner. A
lot of child development experts agree that play education assists children in
inculcating values, learning social skills, and ethics.
Moreover, the resulting effect on the learning and motivation power of a child lasts
for a long period of time. In fact, such form of learning is vital in terms of a child's
emotional, intellectual, and social development.

Positive self-development:

Early childhood education can be seen as a "missing link" in education that helps a
child take part in a more organized academic environment, get along with fellow
students and teachers, and develop a sense of appreciation.

It also works on enhancing the underlying motivators for positive self-development

like trustworthiness, compassion, empathy, respect, consideration, and so forth. High
quality early childhood interventions have ever lasting effects on motivation and
learning in later years.

All these aspects produce the right environment for the development of children in a
manner it is needed for them to survive in a competitive world. Since the effect of
preschool education is so significant, academic bodies demand teachers to have
proper qualifications to teach the young toddlers.

Aspirants have to undergo rigorous training before being given the permit to teach
the under-eight set. In fact, there are several two- and four- year degree courses,
and certificates offered by colleges such as California College of Early Education for
those looking to advance their careers as preschool teachers.

However, no matter what kind of facility the academic institutions provide, the final
decision rests in the hands of the parents. They can either act on time to make their
children more adaptive by investing in the right early childhood education programs
run by qualified teachers or decide on home schooling.
