Make it a team effort
One of the things that makes Jostle intranets so successful is that we make it easy to
divide up the ongoing work of maintaining a vibrant community free, of stale
content. This allows you to enable your subject matter experts, giving each of them
a part of your intranet to own and share.

At a high level, there are two sides to getting your Jostle intranet up and running
data/conguration and content/engagement. These happen in parallel as you
proceed through our six-step process.

On the data/conguration side, the key tasks are tracking down where your current
people data resides, importing it into your Jostle platform, and conguring things to
match how youre organized. This conguration is all about making it easy to target
the right information to the right people, which is key to delivering an intranet thats
relevant to every user. You dont need an IT expert to do this conguration, but it
should be someone whos comfortable setting up digital tools. This person will
become your Jostle System Administrator.

On the content/engagement side, you need an energetic and organized Community

Champion. Someone who understands your organization and will take overall
ownership for the success of your intranet. This person will recruit a team of
Reporters (people who publish stories in NEWS), Librarians (subject matter
experts who own their own LIBRARY Volume) and Planners (people who create
new Events). Well guide you through how to select and train these folks.

Q. Which people do I need to involve?

A. Youll want to form a team to help make your intranet a success and help build
momentum towards your launch. A key factor that makes Jostle intranets stay fresh
and organized is how simple it is to assign specic individuals to lead, own, and
curate specic corners of your Jostle intranet.

At a minimum, you should consider the following roles (some of which may be
performed by the same person):

System Administrator (technical conguration/data syncing)

Community Champion (overall ownership of platform)

Reporters (share content in NEWS)

Librarians (curate les and videos in LIBRARY)

Depending on the size and structure of your organization, you should consider
involving members of your Human Resources, Internal Communications, and IT
teams. Each of these groups brings its own perspective, so involving them early on
can help build a strong foundation for the success of your intranet.

Q. What data do I need?

A. You only need an email address and name to invite someone to become a Jostle
intranet user. However the more people data you can include (such as their mobile
number, location, skills, hire date, etc.), the more engaging your intranet will be.
Everything you add will be found in search, providing a rich way to nd and discover
people. Youll be able to extract data from your existing systems, including HRIS,
payroll, Active Directory, etc.

Q. How long does it take?

Jostle implementation overview | Page 6 of 8

A. Although the platform is turnkey, theres still work to be done to make your Jostle
intranet your own. A number of Jostle customers have launched the same day they
subscribed. However, we recommend that you take 4 to 6 weeks to properly plan,
prepare, and launch your Jostle intranet.

Q. How do I get access to my new Jostle intranet?

A. First, you need to decide where you would like your data center to be located (US,
Europe, Canada or Australia) and get your private instance set up. If your
organization is Google-integrated, your Google Administrator can create your
instance via the Google Marketplace. Otherwise, well send you login instructions.

Q. How much does support cost?

A. We have extensive online documentation thats available to all users at no cost.

Click on the ? at the bottom left of your Jostle interface to gain access to our
documentation and support tools. Access to our expert Support team is free for
your key users (System Administrators, Librarians etc.), but its up to those users to
provide basic support to your other users. Our platform is intuitive to use, so
minimal support is required.
