nutrients they can provide, the
absence of anti-nutritional or
toxic factors ,their palatability
or effect on voluntary feed
intake and their cost.
The key nutrients are;-

CLASSIFICATION;-

*CEREAL GRAINS ;-
Cereal grains are used mainly to
satisfy the energy requirement of
poultry. The dominant feed grain
is corn, although different grains
are used in various countries and
regions of the world .

*PROTEIN MEALS ;-
Protein is provided from both
vegetable and animals sources
,such as oilseed meals ,legumes
and fish processing by products.
Vegetable protein sources-
vegetable protein sources usually
come as meal or cake,the by
product of oilseed crops. The
main oilseed crops include
soybean,rapeseed,sunflower,
palm,linseed,peanut,sesame
seed.

Animal protein sources;- the
main animal protein sources used
in poultry diets are meat meal,
meat and bone meal , fish meal,
poultry by products meal, blood
meal and feather meal .Animal
protein meals are usually defined
by inputs .Those specifically used
in poultry diets include meat (no
bone) or meat and bone meal for
ruminants.

*FATS AND OILS;-
Fats and oils collectedly termed
lipid are regularly used in poultry
feed to satisfy the energy need of
the animal as lipids have more

*MINERAL AND VITAMINS;-

Mineral are vital for normal
growth and development in
poultry, such as enzyme
activation. Some minerals such as
calcium and phosphorous are
required in large quantities.

Animal protein meals provide a

good source of essentials amino
acid but also good source of
energy and minerals.
*FEED ADDITIVES:-
Modern intensive poultry
production has achieved
phenomenal grains in the efficient
and economical production of
high quality and safe chicken
meat , eggs , and poultry
byproducts. The use of feed
additives has been an important
part of achieving this success.
DEFINING A FEED ADDITIVES :-
The diet of animals and humans
contain a wide variety of
additives . However, in poultry
diets these additives are primarily
included to improve the efficiency
of the birds growth and laying
capacity, prevent disease and
improve feed utilization. They are
also specific for the type and age
of birds being fed.
GROWTH PROMOTION
ADDITIVES;- Growth promoting
hormones are not used in the
poultry industry. The efficient
growth and egg productivity of
commercial poultry has been
achieved over the last 50 years
through traditional animal
breeding techniques and
improved nutrition and
management practices.
CONCLUSION;- By the above given
information these are the
ingredients of poultry feed for the
growth of birds .
