Dear Mr.

Editor,

This moving of Japanese-Americans into internment camps is entirely

unnecessary. This grouping together of people based on nothing but their race and

ancestry is totally against the American values. Executive Order 9066 goes against our

Bill of Rights. The constitution clearly states that no person shall be deprived of life,

liberty, or property, without due process of law (Amend. V). These Japanese American

citizens are being taken from their homes solely because they have Japanese blood in

them. Not one spy against America has been Japanese-American. We can question

suspects, but it is unjust to take liberty and property away from U.S. citizens without due

process of law.

We are also not treating German-Americans and Italian-Americans like this. Do

they not carry the blood of our enemies as well? These internment camps are an excuse to

treat Japanese Americans like less than humans and need to be shut down immediately.

Sincerely,

Melina Worthington
