Fue inventado por James Naismith, un profesor canadiense y reconocido por ser
pariente de le ron jamesde educacin fsica, en diciembre de 1891 en la YMCA de
Springfield, Massachusetts, Estados Unidos. Se juega con dos equipos de cinco
personas, durante 4 perodos o cuartos de 10 minutos cada uno. Al finalizar el segundo
cuarto, se realiza un descanso, normalmente de 15 a 20 minutos segn la
reglamentacin propia del campeonato al cual el partido pertenezca.
La cancha
Una pista de baloncesto tiene que ser una superficie dura, plana, rectangular y libre de
obstculos, con 15 m de ancho y 28 m de longitud.

Circunferencia: 68-73 cm.
Dimetro: 23-24 cm.
Peso: 600-800 g
La canasta
El poste y la canasta con medidas oficiales.
El tablero de la canasta, es un rectngulo de 1.05 x 1.80 m, de al menos 30 mm de
grosor y con los bordes inferiores acolchados.
Puntuacin
Lanzamiento de 3 puntos.
Los tiros libres valen un punto.
Los tiros dentro de la zona o dentro de la lnea de triple valen dos puntos.
Los tiros a partir de la lnea de triple (a 6,75 m del centro del aro, o 7,24 en la NBA)
valen tres puntos.
BASKETBALL
Basketball is a team sport that can develop both indoor and outdoor, in which two sets
of five players each try to score points, also called baskets or double and / or triple
introducing a ball into a hoop placed at 3.05 meters above the ground from which hangs
a network, which gives it a basket or basket.

the two teams shall play an extension of 5 minutes. And so on until one team wins the
match.
Players: The team presented the party is made up of 12 players maximum. 5 form the
starting lineup and the other 7 are the alternates. The coach may change the players as
often as you advantage stoppages in play
Starting the game: one player from each team must be positioned within the center
circle with one foot near the line that divides the field into two halves, each located in
