As you pray or the Yavapai Territorial Gospel Rescue
Mission pray specifically for the teaching of the Word
of God. Pray that those, who go and teach those in the
mission, would teach the Word faithfully and proclaim
Christ. Pray that hearts would be changed after hearing
the Word.

The Unquenchable Flame: Discovering the Heart of the
Reformation by Michael Reeves
2017 marks the 500th anniversary of the Protestant
Reformation. This Reformers sought to bring the church back
to the Bible by recovering, prizing, and teaching the Biblical
gospel as revealed in the Scripture alone. I would strongly
encourage Christians to read this easily understood, witty,
informative, and concise work by Michael Reeves on the

Student Ministries
Registration isOPEN for High School Summer Camp and will
close onWednesday, June 21st. A deposit of $150 is due by
June 14th. Camp Regen will be from June 29July 3, 2017.

 Monday
Below are the nine points in this series on bearing fruit.
By reading through this list, we can see how much Christ
cares for His disciples. Take some time to thank the Lord
for revealing each of these things to us.
1. The Father and Son are active in fruit bearing (v.1)
2. The Father takes away and prunes branches (v.2)
3. Christians are presently clean branches with new life
(v.3)
4. Christians are to abide in Christ to bear fruit (vv.4-5)
5. False professors do not bear fruit and are judged (v.6)
6. Christians indwelt by the word will experience
answered prayer (v.7)
7. The Father is glorified when we follow the Son in fruit
bearing (v.8)
8. Christians abide in Christs love by obedience (vv.9-10)
9. Christians who abide experience the fullness of joy (v.11)
Tuesday
And he opened his mouth and taught them, saying, (Matt.
5:2). To understand the importance of teaching you need
look no further than that of Christs teachings. Believers
are to not only understand the importance of teaching,
but also our response to being taught. Continue reading
Matthew chapters 5, 6, and beyond and meditate on all
that Christ teaches at The Sermon on the Mount. Then
pray and ask the Lord to help you to not only understand
what is being taught, but to apply these truths to your life
and live them out daily, knowing that teaching is a gift of
grace from our Lord.
Wednesday
Teaching and preaching are both essential elements in
the diet of the Christian. We must be taught the word (2
Tim 3:16, Matt 28:19-20, Col 3:16) and we must also sit
under the preaching of the Word (2 Tim 4:2). One or the
other is not enough. The fact that preaching includes
teaching as one of its elements (2 Tim 4:2) shows that
they are distinct from one another. Jesus was a teacher
and a preacher (Lk 20:1). He knew his people need
both. We cannot, therefore, say, I like teaching, but not
preaching or I want to be taught, but not preached to.
That is not a decision for the Christian to make, since
we have been told by God that we need both. The wise
believer will seek to have both preaching and teaching
as a regular means of spiritual intake in his or her life.
Thursday
In Nehemiah 8 we read an account of a great revival
amongst the Jewish exiles who had recently returned to
the land from captivity. At the center of this revival was the
Word of God. Spend some time reading and reflecting on
this chapter, paying special attention to the impact that
the Word of God had on the people. Then spend time in
prayer, asking God to use His Word in this same way in
order to bring about another revival in our day.
