Evidence reveals that green purchasing

management improves the performance of
the purchasing function, although the
impact is greater when the organisation
forges lasting alliances with its suppliers.

E-security, Quality of software , staff

Training & Subcontracting affects the
effectiveness of e-procurement
among Safaricom dealers in Nakuru
CBD to a large extent

Willingness to pay (WTP) was the

strongest predictor of green
purchasing behavior, followed by
personal norms. The impact of
attitude is insignificant. This implies
an attitude behavior gap

Kenya commercial state

corporations indicated that usage of
the system has led to drastic cost
reduction in their supply chains. It
has also enabled them to provide
faster and efficient response to
customers as well as better service
delivery
With regard to E-tendering and
Supply Chain Management the
findings of the study isvthat there is
increased tendency towards market
structures.
e-invoicing and supply chain
management the findings of the
study was that there are secure and
low cost procurement transactions.
In relation to e-payment and supply
chain management the study finding
was that they find payments online
more convenient.

GSCM practices revealed a

significantly positive relationship with
the three supply chain performance
parameters

SCA and Gm has negative relation

with GSM in terms of cost but most
influencing is Green Packaging

the results showed that green supply

chain management practices and its
elements are able to improve
organisational performance and
sustain the business.

The result is showing postive

relationship between the varaibles.
FUTURE GAP/ DIRECTION

Buyer Supplier relationship on E-Procurement, other green

purchasing practices like preference for low carbon foot print items etc

The present study can be analysed using system dynamics modelling approach and in
performance measure the environmental performance measure can be considered as one
important criterion for supplier selection in addition to the traditional criteria.

Further research should be conducted to determine the challenges

faced in the implementation of information technology in the
procurement process. Since the current study was confined to
Safaricom dealers in Nakuru CBD, the researcher suggests that similar
research should be carried out in a wider geographical region and
with a larger sample size to determine whether similar results can be
achieved for more prudent generalization of the findings

Individuals overestimate their self-reported WTP and behavior, which

suggests that the share of explained variance is in reality lower. It has
to be doubted whether consumers are objectively able to judge
products by their environmental impact. Even if consumers are willing
to buy a greener product, their subjective evaluation might be
incorrect. Further research should be based on actual purchasing
data. In addition, the attitude behavior gap should be scrutinized by
further research to identify further barriers to green consumption.
The relationship between procurement process and financial
performance in public institutions in Kenya.

There is need to conduct a comparative study of the effects of e-

procurement on performance of the private sector companies and
those in the public sector. This will assist in coming up with
similarities and differences that can serve as benchmarks.
This study did not
include all GSCM practices so include all the practices of GSCM for
further research. Increase the Sample Size (Out of Korea), Control The
Organizational Size with more Full-Time employees

There should be a study to make the study applicable across time by

conducting a time series cross-sectional study instead of the onetime
study that was done by this survey, repeated with a wider population
of study across all industries in Kenya,

The proposed model may be helpful to some extent for organizations

analysing the benefits of investing in Green Supply Chain
Management. On a global scale, environmental sustainability is also a
trending subject of focus, so further research in the topic will not only
help organisations sustain their businesses, but they will be able to
sustain the world for better living

Studies could also be in the direction of assessing GSCM Attributes on

financial performance of the organization and also on the brand value
and goodwill of the organization with the public. The scales could be
tested for studies across industries and different countries.
