Ive always liked Charlie Puth, but I never exactly considered myself a huge fan, that is, until my

Mix91FM friends and I had the pleasure of attending a concert of his. That concert was free and
apart of Short Pump Towne Centers 12th Annual Summer Concert Series and Wine Tasting
event (of course, we couldnt do the wine tasting part). The event started at 5:30 and despite us
arriving about two hours earlier before the event began, finding a good spot was difficult and we
had to settle with a spot behind the stage. So word of advice: If you ever plan on attending a
concert at Short Pump Towne Center, make sure to get there early. By the time the event
began, the mall was jam-packed with at least over a thousand listeners eagerly waiting for
Charlie Puth.

Opening for Charlie Puth was local Richmond musician, Jocelyn Oldham, accompanied by
violinist, David Adley. The two performed beautiful acoustic renditions of multiple hit songs such
as, Call me maybe by Carly Rae Jepsen and Umbrella by Rihanna. For about an hour, the two
continued giving a great performance, successfully getting the crowd to sing along with them
from time to time before their performance came to a close.

Most of the people in the crowd stood for at least 2 hours waiting for Charlie Puth so naturally,
we were a little tired. But at the very moment Charlie Puth first stepped outside, the crowd was
suddenly bursting with energy again and the mall was filled with loud screams. With his
passionate singing, Charlie Puth maintained this upbeat energy within the crowd throughout the
entire concert with every song he sang.
The Setlist:
1. Marvin Gaye
2. Dangerously
3. Some Type of Love
4. Left Right Left
5. My Gospel
6. Up All Night
7. We Dont Talk Anymore
8. Suffer
9. One Call Away
10. See you Again

Charlie Puth was amazing live. He played piano the whole time and his vocals were great, but
that wasnt the only thing that made the concert special. In addition to being musically talented,
Charlie Puth has an incredible ability to interact with a crowd. Between songs, Puth interacted
with fans by talking about a wide variety of topics ranging from Uber rides to school and even
sang happy birthday to a ten year-old in the crowd. It was clear that he and his band were all
having fun with the crowd and at the end of the show, Charlie Puths drummer (Tyler Zarzecka)
noticed that it was the girl in front of us birthday and walked up to her, wished her happy
birthday, and then handed her one of his drumsticks. I could go on and on about how amazing
the show was, but then this post would take forever to read, so Im just gonna leave it at this:
The Charlie Puth concert is easily one of the best concerts Ive ever been to and if you ever get
the chance to see him in concert, do it.
