Topic:

Nowadays people are interested in increasing their wealth and income through
investment. That is why Investment is an important factor of economy growth of any
nation. However, some investors are risk averse while others are willing to take risk. The
main concern of investment decisions is to maximize profit and reduce risks. There are
many factors affecting investment decisions such as demographic factors which related to
gender, age, education, total income, total savings.......etc. Also there are factors related to
personal information such as the investment objective, knowledge of investment,
willingness to take risk, effect of political and economical stability on investment
decisions and familiarity with investment options.

Objective:

The aim of this project is to identify the most important factors that affect investment
decisions of salaries employees who are willing to invest.

Scope:

The study will concern employees who have fixed salaries and are willing to invest their
money to maximize wealth. Most of these employees are interested in investment to
guarantee better future for their families such as better education, health care,
comfortable life. These investments can lead to development of the economical level of
their country.

Method:

The study will be conducted in famagusta-North Cyprus. Sample: Is fixed salary

employees inclusion: people who have less or moderate experience in investment options.
The bankers and brokers are excluded from this research.

The data will be gathered through a questionnaire that will be distributed to employees.
The questionnaire has been prepared by reviewing the previous work of other researchers
and considering the recommendations of their work.

After gathering the data it will be analyzed using the factorial design method which is
one of the common methods of design and analysis of experiments.

This method gives high weight to important factors and discards unimportant factors, and
then a regression model of important factors affecting investment decision is formalized.

The main advantage of factorial design method is its simplicity and applicability to many
different scale problems.
When large data is to be analyzed its better to use software and there are many types of
software available in this regard, the most common softwares are SPSS and MINITAB.
These softwares have friendly interface like Microsoft excel, also these softwares can
help the researcher to know if the size of data gathered is enough or not.

Many curves are provided by these softwares such as the regression line curve (normal
probability versus residuals), residuals versus predicted effect of each factor and many
other curves that help identifying the most important factors of investment decisions.

Also these softwares can provide sensitivity analysis of the gathered data to check the
regression model proposed by the software and how much this model is reliable.

If the results obtained from data analysis indicate in-sufficient results this mean that the
data size must be increased to increase the reliability of the model.

The assessment of the results can be used for further improvement of the proposed
regression model such as increasing the sample size, considering other factors which may
not be exist in this model.
