VISIT OF OBAMA

President Barack Obama visited India from 25th to 27th Jan

2015.He is the first US president to be the chief guest at Indias
Republic Day parade & also the 1st to visit India Twice.
PM Narendra Modi broke the protocol & greeted Prez Obama &
his wife Michelle at the airport.
Both leaders announced the breakthrough in the 6 years long
pending nuclear deal. The ice has been broken but a lot needs
to be worked out before it becomes a reality.
Four key deliverables from the summit meeting were in the
areas of nuclear energy, defence, climate change & economy.

The two countries signed a landmark deal & gave Indian civilian
nuclear technology with the strict laws on liability in the event
of a nuclear accident. In this, US will set up on Insurance pool
of Rs. 750 crore led by General Insurance Co & 4 other
insurance companies. The remaining Rs.750 crore of the total
Rs 1,500 crore will be provided by the Government of India.
The Narendra Modi Barack Obama chemistry was evident & it
made remarkable history.
They decided to establish hotlines between PM Narendra Modi
& Barack Obama & also between their National security Advisors.
They also Focused on Air Pollution in Indian cities & renewable
energy.

INDO US : DEFENCE
The decade old Defence Framework Agreement was renewed
for a period of 10 yrs. The renewed defence pact is expected to
elevate co-operation in Criminal Law Enforcement , Military
Information Exchange & Legal Matters.
Both the countries will move towards joint production , co-
development of weapons & undertaking joint military exercises.
 These will help to upgrade the defence industry & expand
manufacturing sector in India meeting NMs dream of MAKE IN
INDIA.
Two sides will also deepen co-operation in maritime security.

INDO US : CLIMATE CHANGE

US President Barack Obama & PM Narendra Modi have agreed
to team up in combating climate change that would reduce air
pollution in Indian cities & ramping up finance & technology for
Indias ambitious $6 lakh crore renewable energy push.
Two leaders discussed to work together against the adverse
impacts of climate change such as rainfall pattern , rising sea
levels & falling water tables.
They focused on a low carbon development path or ways to
ensure, that Indian economy grows & creates jobs without
polluting the environment , improving the lives of rural Indians
& clean air .
