POLYGON, EXTEND
RECTANGULAR ARRAY,
LAYERING, DIMENSIONING,
MIRROR, ARC, HATCH,
CONSTRUCTION LINES &
TRIM (fence) COMMANDS
BEFORE STARTING
CHECK first DRAWING LIMITS
Go to FORMAT,
click DRAWING LIMITS and
press ENTER twice

SET UP LAYERS

NAME LINETYPE L WEIGHT

Visible Line (VIS) Continuous 0.50


Dimension Line (DIM) Continuous 0.05
Hidden Line (HID) HIDDEN2 0.05
Center Line (CEN) CENTER2 0.05
Click the mouse to the LWT
RIGHT click the mouse to the
OSNAP tab and click SETTING
Choose
ENDPOINT
MIDPOINT
CENTER
INTERSECTION
REMINDER
Draw this TEMPLATE and
NAME BOX after you have
drawn the DRAWINGS
(figures).
This is only 4 MARKS in the
FINAL EXAM.
First step we will do
POLYGON command.
Upon clicking the
mouse type in the # of
sides of the given
polygon then press
ENTER.
In the command
window, type in the
center point of the
POLYGON which is
(220,700) then press
ENTER.
Given in the paper that we
will draw the biggest
polygon CIRCUMSCRIBED
in a circle, so we will type
C then again press ENTER.
Now type in
the RADIUS
of the circle,
which is 190
and press
ENTER.
Do the same
steps for the
other 3
POLYGONS.
Take note on
the OPTION, I
for Inscribed
and C for
Circumscribed
Now we will
OFFSET each of
these polygons
by 6. click the
OFFSET icon
then type 6,
press ENTER &
click mouse to
the INSIDE of
these polygons.
Draw a vertical
and horizontal
CONSTRUCTION
lines at the
center using in
the LAYERS
dimension line.
Now we will
use ROTATE
command to
rotate the
smallest
innermost pair
of polygons.
ZOOM in to
make it big.
Click the mouse
to the 2 smallest
polygons then
press ENTER.
The BASE POINT
is at the center
of polygons (the
same as the
intersection of
the construction
lines). Click the
mouse there.
The ROTATION
ANGLE is
computed by
getting the 1/8
of 180o
degrees (or
1/16 of 360o or
simply 45/2).
Type in 22.5 &
press ENTER.
After rotating,
we will now
OFFSET the
center
horizontal line
by 3 up and 3
down. Click the
mouse to
OFFSET & type
in 3 then press
ENTER.
Click the mouse to
the center
horizontal line &
click up, click the
center line again &
click down.
Change now the
LAYER to visible line
and click the mouse
to LINE icon.
Draw two (2)
horizontal visible
line.
Now ARRAY this
line to 16 with
center as (220,
700) select the
objects by clicking
mouse.
Zoom out,
make it small
and remove
all
construction
lines. We will
now use
EXTEND
command.

Select Boundary Edges


Given in the
paper, the
BOUNDARY is
the blue
polygon so click
the mouse to
these polygons.
After clicking 2, ENTER
Place the
mouse here
& click and
do the
same to the
other lines
you want to
EXTEND
Again place
the mouse
here at the
tip of the
line you
want to
EXTEND
and click.
Now we will
TRIM the
lines inside
the
POLYGONS,
click mouse
to TRIM and
press ENTER.
Draw a
construction line
and OFFSET by
57, 122, 245 &
10.
Draw a visible
line at the bottom
for the base of
the gazebo and
delete the
construction lines
after.
Draw four (4) dimension
lines at the tip of the blue
polygon.
Draw also a vertical
construction line at
the center and we
can now draw the
roof of the gazebo.
OFFSET by the
following data
Again OFFSET use the following data.
OFFSET slowly one by one to be exact.
Always check dimensions against the given
TRIM the two lines
to for us to have a
midpoint
Click mouse to
Draw, then go
to Arc and then
to 3Points
Click the mouse at
1, 2, and 3

Now click the
mouse to MIRROR
icon then select
the objects to
mirror.

To select objects,
click the mouse at
1 and 2 and the
press ENTER.

Specify the first


1 and second point
of mirror line.
Lastly, type N
then press ENTER.
Offset again by 10
and we will do
ARC 3 points.
OFFSET to
provide the
following data.
Offset again
for us to
make a pair
of visible
line
Click ARRAY

Provide the following data & select objects


Click mouse to the two visible lines,
After clicking OK this will come out.
Complete the drawing & we will do MIRROR

To select objects, click mouse at 1 and 2.

Specify the 1st & 2nd point of mirror line.


Type N & ENTER to finish mirror command.
