WRIT 1733 Assessment

What is the rhetorical situation?

The DU Writing Program is committed to providing the best learning experiences for students. Towards
that end, we are asking that you upload some writing and research projects that you have completed in
WRIT 1733 along with a Reflective Analysis. Writing Program faculty, in addition to your professor,
will read these works so that we may better understand what students have learned and are able to apply.

What do I include?
A link to your longpiece on Medium.
A 500-750 word Reflective Analysis of the project or projects that addresses the following
questions:

Looking Back
What new writing or research challenges did you encounter?
Looking Inward
What was risky about producing this project? What did you learn about writing and research
as a result?
Looking Outward
How do you imagine your project will be received by its intended audience?
Looking Forward
How will having written this project help you in the future?

How should I format the Reflective Analysis?

Your goal is answering the above questions with some depth while pointing to examples from your
process or the projects themselves. Please write in an essay format, devoting a clear and coherent
paragraph or two to each question.

How do I submit my work?

Write your Reflective Analysis in a Word doc and paste the Medium link to your longform project at the
top of that doc. Once you have your combined file, you should upload it to the DU Assessment System:

1. Go to http://assessment.du.edu
2. Log in to the system using your DU ID and passcode
3. You will see a list of all of your current assessment assignments. Click the 'Start' link next to
each assignment to begin.

Please upload your file into the DU Assessment system by noon on Friday, June 9.
