Everyone in the world is entitled to human rights but according to many reports
worldwide, they get violated everyday. A boy did not have any clean water to drink, a girl was
denied an education, these little things are denying the rights to the people who deserve them.
According to the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, every person is entitled to the
same rights including freedom of religion, no discrimination against race, color, sex, language,
political opinions, or nationality. (UnitedNations) Many violations are filed every year due to the
inhumane conditions some people are forced to live in or work in. A case study on domestic
abuse in Ghana explains how the rights of the women were violated by the men in their
community. (WorldReportNews) The women focused on in this study have been abused by their
husbands multiple times and were not given a way to escape this harm. Out of 120 women they
interviewed, 80 had been abused, and out of 30 women they did a separate interview on, 28 had
been abused. (WorldReportNews) These large numbers of women being mistreated proves the

ask for help after an incident, they cannot regain their rights alone.
Throughout history, human rights have always been a discussed topic. But not until 1789
did the U.S. Constitution and Bill of Rights integrate new civil and political rights into the new
way of life and treatment of human beings. (GoogleDrive) Although these new laws were made,
it did not mean that they would be followed. Many other instances besides domestic abuse
happen every day and sometimes are not ever caught. But the people can make a change. The
first step in gaining rights back is becoming educated. Simply knowing about human rights and
how they affect a group of people can make a significant difference. Educating as many people
as possible can bring people together and unite them, (ModernGhana) If everyone takes the time
to learn about human rights, then together a change can be made in the mistreatment of the ones
