What is it you ask?

It is a clean slate.
It is up to you to decide what to do
with it.
Write, draw, put it away, lose it,
break it, give it to someone else –
the options are many.
So too are the decisions of life.

Joshua set the example:

but as for me and my

house, we will serve the
LORD.
Joshua 24:15

recognising His person and responding to His leadership"
Church Letter February 2010
It is a little strange to be editing a newsletter without a Minister’s Letter.
So, what is in store for the first quarter of 2010?
Rev Mike McLure (Gresford) will be providing insight into the Book of
Micah over five Sunday evenings (7pm) in February (7, 14 & 21) and two
in March (7 & 14).
Rev Perry Smith (Belmont) will preach the morning sermon on 21 Feb,
21 Mar, 18 Apr & 16 May.
David Harris will take us through the Book of Ruth.
Terry Burston opened Amos and linked it to 2 Peter. Terry preaches again
in March and April.
Rick Schroder has a fairly regular commitment as the pastoral elder and
will share his thoughts as he is led.
I have commenced eight studies that give an overview of Revelation.
Later in the year we will hear from the Pocket Testament League.
Information about Con’s induction at Wollongong was emailed last week
and a copy is on the noticeboard. Continue to pray for Con & Leonie as
they take up this ministry.
As the holidays end, activities return to ‘normal’, but adjustments will be
needed to cater for the changed compositions of groups and the
availability of leaders. As we continue to work for the spread of the
Gospel in Cessnock and the demands of everyday living, we need to be
praying for our future pastor that he will respond to a call to this work.
In practical terms, Peter has distributed a new mowing roster and a copy is
on the noticeboard along with the other rosters drawn up by Sue Schroder.
Doug Thoma is continuing the ‘CREDO model’ for The Shed for the first
part of this year.
Our website: http://www.cessnockcongregationalchurch.com.au/ will
continue to provide information and electronic copies of the newsletter.
The calendar section has been re-started for 2010.
