1. The valves are stored, handled & protected from the effects of sunlight or

contaminationtopreventoxidationoftherubber&coating.

2. Valves are handled with care and are subject to requirements as protected

wrapping shall not be removed until they are about to be lowered into the

trenches.

3. Ensurevalveiscorrectinsize,shape,typeandundamaged.


4. Ensuredirectionofopening,sizeandshapeoftheoperatingnut.

5. Ensurenumberofturnstoopenorclosedandtypeofendconnections.

6. Thevalvemustbeinstalledinuprightposition.

7. Ensureeachvalvefreefromforeignmaterialintheinterior.

8. Ensureallboltscheckedforpropertightness.

9. Tightentheboltsandnutsinthecrossovermethodtoloadthepipeandvalve

evenlyandpreventstressonthejoints.

10. Ensure all details are recorded, as built drawings and section is fully

documented.
