ISLAND, LAUNCHES ITS NEW COME TO LIFE CAMPAIGN
The month of May is a significant time for Doongalik
Studios and Creative Nassau as their founder, Jackson
Burnside III, Bahamian artist, architect, junkanoo,
teacher and cultural activist, passed away on May 11,
following hospitalization for an brain aneurysm.
2017 marks the 6th anni-
versary of his passing ,but
this year, there was much
to celebrate, as the Atlan-
tis resort on Paradise Is-
land also launched its new
campaign entitled Come guests! You can experience the magic by logging on to

amazingly unique people
whom it is moving to the
forefront of its brand!
Jackson was intimately involved in the first phases of
Atlantis when Sol Kerzner was its owner. It was under
Kerzners watch that Jackson received the amazing op-
portunity to design the Marina Village at Atlantis, a pro-
ject that he approached with passion with the goal to
bring the true-true feel of Bahamian architecture and Art, Culture and Heritage. The

remained there until
2011, always con-
scious and intent on
exposing visitors to the
unique richness of Ba-
hamian Art, Culture
ATLANTIS LAUNCHES COME TO LIFE
and Heritage.
On May 8, Atlantis, under the leadership of Howard
Karawan, shared its new branding campaign with the
world, thrusting its thrilling Bahamian story into the
limelight and inviting the world to come and celebrate
with them!
This innovative campaign has also traveled across the
PI bridge and into the Bahamian community and it has
infused within the 7,500 strong Atlantis family, a re-
newed recognition and sense of immense Bahamian
pride in we the people, "being who we is and not who
we ain't" which they are eagerly passing on to their

The Community School is presently holding their

4th Annual Art Show at Doongalik Studios, exhibit-
ing the art works of their students from kindergar-
ten and up under the themes: My Favourite
Things and Conch Lives Matter. Parents at-
tended the opening and auction on Thursday, May
11. The Show closes on May 20th.

Doongalik welcomes back the Curlyfest

Bahamas Team for another fun-filled
family function on SATURDAY, MAY 27
from 2-8pm that is all about NATURAL
HAIR!

As before, the entire Doongalik property

will be abuzz with demonstrations, prod-
ucts, lectures, music, fashion, food, fun,
and lots of other activities for the whole
family!
