Invisco Tornado Whole House Fan Offers Highest Performance, Lowest Price

Kurt Shafer, Founder of Invisco, invented a way to get 6,320 CFM at 505 watts from a 19.5 inch 8
blade fan in a 20 inch diameter throat.

Temecula, CA, May 24, 2017 --(PR.com)-- In 2016 Invisco shipped whole house fans with a 19.5 inch
blade made by Multi-Wing in Ohio. The EC motor that Kurt used is a 1/2 HP infinitely variable speed
motor from U.S. Motors. Like most new EC motors it takes a speed input signal of 0 to 10 volts DC. Kurt
noticed that the motor achieved full RPM at just 5 volts speed input. He called U.S. Motors technical
group and learned that the motor had more torque than was being loaded by the original 1/2 HP blade. So
Kurt ordered a blade designed with 8 high pitch blades and intended for a 1 HP motor.

When the new blade was attached the motor was indeed fully loaded. It runs at just under full RPM and
takes over 1/2 HP of input power, 505 watts. And the air flow was improved to 6,320 CFM. The higher
input power caused a hot spot on the motor case - an expected result - but the spot never got over 114
degrees F, half the temperature the motor is rated for.

The result of this work is that Invisco has the highest performance in CFM in the industry and the lowest
input power. QuietCool's best fan pulls 5422 CFM at 728 watts (source: QuietCool's web site) and
Airscape offers 5350 CFM at 825 watts (source: Airscape's web site).

Invisco also has the lowest price for this performance at 25 cents per CFM. QuietCool is 30 cents and
Airscape is 35 cents per CFM.
