If your computer has Windows 7, you do not need to be a computer expert to perform this task. Just
follow the steps below and wait until the installation process is complete.
Notice: Before formatting your PC, we recommend that you perform a backup of your data, since it
will erase all information from the hard disk and you will not be able to recover it. You can make a
backup by recording your information on a DVD, a USB or an external hard drive.
Insert the Windows 7 DVD into the DVD player and wait for it to read. The following message
appears on the screen: "Press any key to boot from the CD or DVD". Press any key once and wait.
After this, you will see on the screen the presentation of Windows 7 where you will have to select the
language, the format of time and currency, and the language of the keyboard. Select English for the
system and keyboard language. The time and currency format must be configured according to your
country of residence. Then click Next and click the Install Now button. Accept the license
agreement by checking the respective box and clicking Next. On the next screen, select Custom
(advanced) which is the custom option to perform a clean installation of the operating system. You
will see the partitions you have available from your previous operating system. Select Drive C and
click Format. Do the same with the other partitions if you have them.
After formatting your entire hard drive, go to Drive C where you will install Windows 7 and
click Next. In the next screen you will see that Windows 7 is being installed and you will only have to
wait until the process is finished. After you have finished copying the files, installing the features and
upgrades, you will be prompted for a name for the primary user and a name for the system. Then,
you must write a password, enter it again and indicate a clue to help you remember it. You also have
the option to leave these spaces blank if you do not want to use a password to access the operating
system. In the next window, enter your Windows 7 serial number. After entering the serial number,
click Next and select the recommended settings. Set the time and time zone depending on your
geographic location. Finally, select a type of network (work or public home). Done, the system
finished configuring, after a brief wait will see the Desktop showing you the Windows 7 welcome
screen.

Connecting two computers using a crossover ethernet cable is the safest and easiest way of
transferring files, pictures, videos and music. This data transfer creates a network for sharing data,
and using two electronic resources, thus avoiding having a separate networking facility for each
computer.
This tutorial will explain how to link two computers using an ethernet cable.
Change the Computer Name to A and the workgroup name to ABC. Click on OK to save
changes.
Next go to Control Panel > Network Connections. Right-click on your LAN connection and
select Properties.
Select Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) > Properties and enter the following values:
IP Address:
192.168.0.1
.
Subnet Mask:
255.255.255.0
.
Now take the second computer, and head to My Computer > Properties > Computer Name.
Change the computer name to B and the workgroup name to ABC. Then click on OK to save your
changes.
Now head to the Control Panel > Network Connections. Right-click on your LAN connection and

IP Address:
192.168.0.2
.
Subnet Mask:
255.255.255.0
.
Leave all other fields blank and click on OK to save your changes.
