3
Place bag sections together with right sides facing and stitch the side edges and the bottom edge closed.
Press seam allowances apart. Sew the bottom corners, placing the edges of the still open spot onto each
other, taking care that the bottom seam and side seams meet up.
Sew inside pockets onto lining if wished. Sew the lining in the same way as the bag, leaving approx. 10cm of
the bottom seam open for turning.
With right sides together, pin lining to bag edge. Stitch, leaving the short edges open at the spots where the
handle will be inserted.
Turn bag right side out. Edgestitch bag opening.
4
Place the two handle pieces together, right sides facing. Stitch, leaving one of the short edges open for tur-
ning. Turn handle right side out and edgestitch it.
Slide handle ends between the edges at the spots left open at both side seams. For sewing, pull these areas
through the still open bottom seam to the wrong side, fold excessive fabric under as illustrated and stitch
them closed, catching the handle as you do so.
Sew on button.
Stitch the opening in the lining seam closed by hand or using the machine.
