CAESAR II Demo Version (4.

30)
March 2001

This is the working demonstration version of CAESAR II. This version allows
complete static analysis of models of up to 20 elements, using pipe sizes up to 4"
nominal.

NOTES:
The User's Guide is available for download as a separate file. The "c2ug.pdf" file
should be copied into the \caesar\c2_docu directory for proper use with the program.

This version of CAESAR II should be started by invoking the program C2.EXE.

Once this module is running, you should open/pick/set a job name (from the File
menu) before attempting to use any other module. Most of the modules count on
knowing the "current working directory", and if this information is not available they
will abort. There is a Set_Default_Data_Directory menu option, which will save this
value in the registry.

Until a valid jobname/directory is selected, the program assumes a startup directory

of ..\caesar\examples, assuming the software was installed in a directory named
caesar. The startup directory will always be the value stored in the registry, which
can be changed via the Main Menu.

In the input module, the auxiliary dialogs (bend, restraint, etc) can be activated and
deactivated using the [SpaceBar] key or a double mouse click.

CAESAR II follows the Windows standard very closely. One exception is that the
[Enter] key is trapped so that it changes focus to the next input cell, instead of
closing the active window. To build a model, the [Alt+C] key combination must be
used to create a new spreadsheet (or you can use the C-> toolbar icon). This is
analogous to the [C] for "continue" in the DOS version. The [Crtl+C] and [Crtl+V]
key combinations can be used to cut and paste values between data cells.
[Crtl+Home] and [Crtl+End] move to the first and last spreadsheets respectively.

The [F12] key can be used to scroll through the Auxiliary dialogs for the current
element.
