PROJECT NARRATIVE & SOW

The project Titled as Construction of Palestinian & Sudanese School is
located in Doha, Qatar. MEP Sub-Contractor POWERMECH ENGINEERING is
responsible to perform all Mechanical, Plumbing, Fire Fighting, Electrical (ELV)
works inside and outside of school building.
This project comprises of two school buildings Palestinian School and

Sudanese School.
EPIC Engineering, Procurement, Installation and Commissioning is under the

scope of MEP sub-contractor.
ENGINEERING:
Engineering of MEP works include preparation of Shop Drawings in

coordination with civil drawings.
Shop Drawings include following areas;
Lightening & Earthing

Lighting & power
Power Containment
ELV system (Fire alarm, CCTV, Public address and voice alarm,
Telephone )
Plumbing system
Drainage System
Fire Fighting System
HVAC System
Chilled Water System
Coordination of all System
PROCUREMENT:
Procurement of all materials required to complete MEP works after completion

of engineering works.
Engineering for procurement include;
Submission of Material submittals as per project specification and Bill of

Quantities which are required to get the approval from Consultant.
Procurement is divided into Two Sections:
Long Lead Items

Short Lead Items
Long Lead items include major equipment to be installed and require long
lead time to deliver to site

Short Lead items include all those items which are delivered to site partially
as per site requirement and time taken for delivery of items is short.
PALESTINAIN SCHOOL: (B+G+2)

Palestinian School is having Basement, Ground, 1 st Floor, 2nd Floor and Roof.
The whole building is divided into different Zones named as;
Zone-A
Zone-B
Zone-C
Zone-D
Zone-E
Basement:
Builders work e.g. installation of sleeves, conduits will be performed before

casting of concrete.
Chipping or coring of concrete is not the part of MEP scope.
Earting of system and Under-ground drainage pipes is subject to be

completed before completion of casting of basement.
Basement floor include following areas where MEP activities will be

performed:
Transformer Room
MV Room
Pump Room
Q-Tel Room
Services area & Hall
These areas include Installation of major equipment like ;
Installation of Transformer, MV panels, Pumps, Bus duct, Power facto Panel.

Other MEP activities will be under the division of plumbing & drainage, Fire
Fighting system, HVAC system and Fire alarm, CCTV system.
Major activities are as follows;
Installation of PVC conduits

Installation of ELV wiring & Cables
Installation of Light fixtures
Installation of Plumbing, Drainage , Fire Fighting Pipes & Supports
Installation of HVAC duct, Insulation , AHUs and FCUs
Installation of Final fix accessories like Switch & Sockets, Sprinklers ,
Fire Alarm devices
Installation of Chilled water pipes and Insulation
Testing of Pipes & ducts
Testing & Commissioning of all equipment and complete system

All above mentioned activities are dependent on completion of civil work.
Builders work go hand in hand with civil work. Any delay in civil may effect
MEP activities to get delay and may lead to project delay.

Ground to 2nd floor include following areas where MEP activities will be
performed:
Class Rooms
Electrical Rooms
Offices
Hall ways
Library
Staircase
IT Rooms
Music Labs

Fire Alarm devices
Installation of Sanitary wares
Lower Roof & Upper Roof :

SUDANESE SCHOOL: (G+1)

Sudanese School is having Ground, 1st Floor and Roof. The whole building is
divided into different Blocks named as;

Installation of FM200
Installation of HVAC System
Major activities for other building are as follows;

Installation of HVAC/ Dx split AC as per drawings
Fire Alarm devices
TESTING & COMMISSIOING:
It includes complete system Start-Up for hand over to Main Contractor;
Electrical Equipment Energization

Small power, ELV system energization
Fire Alarm system T&C
Fire Fighting system T&C (Include testing of FF pumps and Pipes)
Plumbing & Drainage T&C (Include testing of Pumps & Pipes)
