Hence, determine the total number of meal combinations possible provided each
meal is served with one carbohydrate, one side and a protein (8

a) Two regular cubical die are thrown, (sides 1,2,3,4,5,6)
Construct a sample space diagram illustrating the sum of the numbers
shown after the throw. (6 marks)

b) Hence, determine the probability that the sum is :


i) Less than 4 ii) less than 4 or more than 7
iii) divisible by 2 iv) less than 6 or greater than or equal to 6

In the Cartesian plane with origin, O, the coordinates of points T and R, are (4,0) and
(12,4) respectively. The midpoint of TR is J.

a) i) Sketch a graph with the coordinates given and find the equation of the line
whichis the perpendicular bisector to TR. (7 marks)
ii) Find the equation of the perpendicular bisector of OR and hence determine
thecoordinates of the intersection of both bisectors (which is center of the circle
through O, T and R) (7 marks)

b) i)Prove that the line y x 1 is a tangent to the circle


x 2 y 2 10 x 12 y 11 0 and hence or otherwise find the coordinates of the
point of contact. (6 marks)

c) Determine the equation of the normal to the circle at the point of contact.

(Note: tangent and normal are perpendicular)

ii) Determine the standard deviation and variance of the scores. (5 marks)
