but be careful not to be overly restrictive. If you have personal knowledge of the
employer through speaking to someone who works at that office, then include that

you are applying outside of Toronto it is important to state your connection or
interest in working in the particular city to which you are applying.

explain why you would be a good fit and what skills you bring to the
table. The most compelling cover letters tell a bit of a story. Try to avoid
repeating everything on your resume (employers will read it). Instead

showcase transferable skills. Some students follow a chronological
approach. While others devote a paragraph to academic, employment
and/or extracurricular activities. However, there is no set formula - so
focus on your own strengths!

an opportunity to reiterate your interest and tie in the skills you
have discussed. You can thank the employer for their time and
consideration and end with a simple Yours truly or Sincerely.
