TheK38andK50enginescontaintwo
camshaftbushingsineachbore,exceptinthe
boresintheleftbank(LB)frontandrightbank
(RB)rear.TheLBfrontandRBrearcontain
onebusingonly.

Whentheenginesaremanufactured,a
bushing,PartNumber3175805,whichdoes
notcontainaninternaloilgroove,isinstalledin
allboresexcepttheLBfrontandRBrear.To
reduceconfusioninthefield,onlythebushing,
PartNumber205230,withaninternaloil
groove,isavailableforservice.

Ifabushinginaborethatcontainstwo
bushingsmustbereplaced,bothbushings
mustbereplaced.Itisrecommendedthatif
onebushingoftheenginebankmustbe
replaced,thatallofthebushingsforthatbank
bereplaced.

Usethecamshaftbushingdriverassembly,
PartNumber3376637,andthedriverkit,Part
Number3376634.

Foreaseofremoval/installation,hydrauliccam
bushingtoolsareavailable.Theyinclude
hydraulicactuatorkit,PartNumber3823621,
installation/removalkit,PartNumber3823647,
andcenteringguidekit,PartNumber3823653.

Usethedriverassembly(1).Removethe

camshaftbushing(2)fromtheborethat
containsonebushing.

bushings(2)untilittouchestheother.Push

Toinstallthefirstbushingintheboresthat
requiretwobushings:

Positionthebushing(2)sothattheclinch
jointofthebushing(3)ispointedtoward
thecylinderheadsurfaceoftheblock.
Theelongatedhole(4)istobeonthe
sideoftheborethatisnearesttothevee
oftheblock.
Useadriverassembly.Pushthebushing
throughthebore.Thebushingmustbe
evenwith,ornomorethan1.6mm
[0.0625inch]belowthesurfaceofthe
blockweb(5).

Positionthesecondbushing(2)fortheboreas

describedpreviously.

Usethedriverassembly.Pushthe
bushingintheboreuntilitisevenwith,or
nomorethan1.6mm[0.0625inch]below
thesurfaceoftheblockweb(5).
Makesuretheoilhole(6)isopenand
clean.

withtheoilholeintheblock(6).Theoil
holesinthebushingwillbenearesttothe
cylinderblock.Theclinchjoint(3)willbe
pointedtowardtheoutboardsideofthe
bore.
Usethedriverassembly.Pushthe
bushingintheboreuntilitisevenwith,or
nomorethan1.6mm[0.0625inch]below
thesurfaceoftheblockweb(5).
Checktomakesuretheoilholeinthe
block(6)isalignedwiththeelongated
holeinthebushing(4).
Makesuretheoilhole(6)isopenand
clean.
