Observer: Millie
Setting: Inside during morning play time after the morning meeting
Observation:
- Children feel safe, secure and supported: openly express their ideas with
interactions with others
- Engages in shared play experiences
- Children act verbally and non-verbally with others for a range of purposes
Interpretation:
During this experience Alice was effective in communicating to me what she had
helped to make. She was shy and reserved to begin with but after I talked to her
and Juliette for a while she slowly began to become more confident and speak
louder. By the end of our conversation Alice was clearly articulating what she had
helped create. Alice was also able to link the conversation we were having about
the farm to a real life experience that she had had which involved going to the
farm with her family. As the conversation progressed Alice was showing more
and more enthusiasm toward the conversation and what we were discussing. By
the end of the conversation I feel Alice was in an environment thats he felt safe
and secure in and one where she could freely express and share her idea.
