WORKSHOP REPORT

This report presents a summary of the workshop. All the participants are thankful to

About the workshop

The 3 days workshop held at Pakistan cochlear implant centre bahria town on 21st to 23rd
February 2017 from 9 am to 5 pm. The resource person was Dr Ulrika lofkvist speech and
language pathologist. The workshop includes the following topics,

Auditory verbal therapy goals

Patients discussion
One to one therapy sessions
Tele practice
 Lena project
Informal assessment
Formal assessment tools

There were 6 case presentations in the workshop by therapists.

One patient name ayaan and age 5 years. He can speak in sentences. His further therapy
plan was discussed with maam Ulrika.
One patient name ayaan and age 5 years. He can speak in words. His family is not
supported. His family is counseled about the child language development and importance
of family involvement in therapy.
One patient name Ibrahim and age 3.5 years. He can speak in sentences. His articulation
errors and therapy was discussed.
One patient name fahad and age 5 years. He can speak in sentences. His grammar issues
were discussed.
One patient name kaif and age 5 years. His receptive language is very good. His
expressive language issues were discussed.
One patient name huzaifa and age 5 years. He can speak in sentences. His further therapy
plan was discussed.

Feedback From The participants

All the participants gave the positive feedback about the workshop. The workshop is very
knowledge gaining. They have learned about the Assessments and therapeutic plan for CI
patients .They have learn about the use of Tele practice and Lena project in Pakistan. All
participants are thankful to Dr Nadeem Mukhtar for organizing this workshop.

Recommendations
In future more workshops related to assessments and therapeutic plans should be conducted.
