Proposal: [The Undocumented]

[This projects shares the feelings and thoughts of the undocumented in
their lives in the United States.]
Summary
In America, there are many immigrants that come to seek and live the American
Dream. Many of them come to provide a better future for their families or soon to be
families. They work, they dream, they fall, and they rise in every immigrant there is
a light. A light that has a limited shine because they live in fear that one day all of
their hard work will be denied.

Needs and Opportunities

Currently there are 11 million unauthorized immigrants living in America, me
included. Many live in fear and struggle in their everyday lives. They all come with a
dream, in this project I will be taking different images of different people describing
what it feels like to live in America as immigrants. There will also be images of how
the different fears makes them feel like they do not have power or a say here in
America and how opportunities are limited to them just because they are
immigrants and came to America for a better living.

Audience / Clients / Users

The project is targeted to the immigrants that come to America to live the American
Dream but I also want to expand the knowledge and raise awareness with people
ages 15+. When people come into America to live the American Dream they do not
just come here to just be here, they come here to provide a better living to their
families. They want to provide more opportunities for a better future of their next
generations and sometimes it is taken in a blink of an eye. When a parent or family
member has to be deported families are broken and family is being left behind. The
family left behind then have to find a way to survive and continue with their lives or
they cannot do that and are forced to leave failing to live the American Dream.

Product
The actual product will be a photograph gallery kind of like a photo book but it the
pictures will be hung behind a white wall and it will have different picture of
different messages and different people. The pictures are going to express the
feeling of being undocumented in America and through facial expressions. There are
also going to be another set of pictures and those will include pictures of people
holding a word to describe their fear of feelings of hate and discrimination against
them for being undocumented.

Reality Check
I will need a camera and I can get the images printed at a store and I can but the
string I need to hang the pictures up and the pins I need to hang the string and clips
to place the picture on the string. I will need to contact people I know and arrange a
time where I can take pictures and make sure they come out right.

Conclusion
I am very excited about my project because it is something that impacts me
personally and it is something I have not taken the time to put thought into it. I am
going to take risks and go and reach places I havent been able to explore and that
makes me very happy.
