Mirror Cube, Apple Magic Cube

The Mirror Cube and Apple Magic Cube work like ordinary Rubik's Cubes, except that all the
pieces have the same colour. For the Mirror Cube, the pieces are distinguished by height
and width. For the Apple Magic Cube, the pieces are distinguished by shape and curvature.
It takes a while to get used to this, but soon it becomes clear how to proceed.

The First Layer

For the Mirror Cube, it is best to start with the tallest centre piece. When solving, we match
pieces by height and width instead of by colour. Place the four edge pieces of the first layer,
one by one, so that they match the centre pieces of the top and middle layer. For the Apple
Magic Cube, we can start with either the top or bottom layer of the apple.

Solve the four corners of the first layer, one by one.

Find a corner piece that belongs to the top layer, but is now at the bottom layer. Turn the
bottom layer so that it lies directly where it is supposed to lie.

Once the top layer is done, turn the whole cube upside down so that the top layer is now the
bottom layer. Proceed in the same way as the ordinary Rubik's Cube.
