It helps alots to all the students who English is their second language. I would like to see EDL to continue
at Farsworth because it helps alots.
Enrichment opportunities
Strong academic and social skill in staff, which was passed on to students.
I really appreciate how organized EDL is. It was organized the rst year I taught it but I feel like it is even
more organized this year. I appreciated having a list of what each student needed help with. I also thought
it was helpful to have speci c feedback from classroom teachers on what they would like us to work on
after school. That made me feel like what I was teaching was actually helping. It also helped me with
lesson planning.
It helped to have access to reading material for my class since I don't work at Farnsworth during the day.
It was helpful to have an extra staff there in the classroom with me.
small classes
What are some areas of growth or changes you would like to see in the
EDL program at Farnsworth?
(8 responses)
More support staff
I would like to see some other culture activities at all school EDL site to keep other culture alive.
Since I don't work at Farnsworth during they day it was hard to nd supplies to work with. I also felt like I
had to provide a lot of my own materials to make lessons work. It was also hard not having storage place
for any of the materials I brought. I think some kind of storage space would have been helpful.
Behaviors can be di cult to deal with after school. I like that there are enrichment programs like chess
and Lego League but it would be nice to have a couple one time event that other students can engage in.
Some of my students who weren't in Chess or Lego League felt like they were missing out on "fun stuff."
It was also nice to have the extra support staff in my classroom but I was a little confused at the
beginning about the role of the extra support staff and when she should be there. I don't think there was
an introduction at the beginning of the school year.

What things did your EDL Site Leader do that supported you? (8 responses)
My EDL Leader always there to take care and help while a behavior a cured.
Flexibility
I appreciated her help with student behavior. I felt like I could go to her with any comment or concern and
she would respond right away and nd a solution. She was easy to approach and always made sure I was
able to have what I needed. I appreciated her checking in with me once in awhile to see how things were
going.
helped in anyway
What could your EDL Site Leader do to improve the EDL program?
(8 responses)
Make sure not all students with behavior are in the same class.
Make sure students good at math and music know about chess club
My site EDL Leader did improved to show to parents and staff that all students who stay or attended EDL
can learn some thing like they can be an actress in a play. Some kids can be able to play music, concert.
Bigger room to be in
Lizzie did a great job. Could have passed more responsibility on teachers to help with edl procedures.
I think the EDL site leader did a great job overall. See Changes in program above for how to improve the
program.
nothing
I have really enjoyed teaching EDL at Farnsworth. I can't comment enough on how much I appreciate how
organized it has been.
