Part II: Reflection

CANDIDATE REFLECTIONS:
(Minimum of 3-4 sentences per question)

1. Briefly describe the field experience. What did you learn about technology facilitation and
leadership from completing this field experience? My engaged learning project required me to
compile and effectively implement all indicators of engaged learning and represent a high LoTi
(level of technology implementation) level for a standards based project. This course introduced
me to the sixteen indicators of engaged learning and the varying levels of technology
implementation in the classroom. Through completing this assignment, I was able to demonstrate
my effective use of technology and higher order thinking through the engaged learning indicators
that represents my understanding of appropriate technology implementation in the classroom.
From this learning experience I was able to effectively facilitate technology into a standards based
third grade multidisciplinary lesson which also signifies my ability to take a leadership role in
teaching, coaching, and evaluating others how to do the same.

2. How did this learning relate to the knowledge (what must you know), skills (what must you
be able to do) and dispositions (attitudes, beliefs, enthusiasm) required of a technology
facilitator or technology leader? (Refer to the standards you selected in Part I. Use the
language of the PSC standards in your answer and reflect on all 3knowledge, skills, and
dispositions.) This assignment required the knowledge necessary to design, develop, and
communicate technology rich plans, while using best practices, into an effective and enhanced
learning experience. In order to do so, I had to incorporate skills that required higher order
thinking with the inclusion of content and technology standards in order to make the learning
environment authentic for all students. Therefore, through being enthusiastic and optimistic about
completing this assignment I was able to incorporate the knowledge and skills (listed above)
necessary that are detrimental to becoming a technology facilitator or technology leader.

3. Describe how this field experience impacted school improvement, faculty development or
student learning at your school. How can the impact be assessed? This assignment impacted
student learning as it incorporated nearly all sixteen engaged learning indicators and represented a
LoTi level five (expansion) with the possibility of a six (refinement). The Engaged Learning
Project could also impact faculty development through professional learning which exposed
teachers to the indicators of engaged learning and the levels of technology implementation. By
providing the professional learning, teachers could begin to evaluate their lessons to incorporate
more indicators and strengthen their technology implementation so that their lessons, projects, or
assignments are reflective of these practices.
