Reflection letter
This semester I had the most trouble with essay number two. When we began talking
about the topic proposal I was very excited because my English class had a debate on whether or
not technology could replace teachers. The argument went on for about 20 minutes and I kept
making valid points throughout the debate. When it came to writing down the essay I got writers
block and could not think of ways to provide my point. I had never got writers block in my life,
but I felt as if I knew everything I wanted to say but could not write it down. This essay was the
one essay all semester that I was excited for because it sounded so fun.
I think that it was the most difficult because I kept doubting myself on what I was going
to be able to write. I kept trying different ideas and tried to look up different ways that I could
search up research on the California State University Northridge databases but that turned out to
be the hardest part. I was trying to get information on how online educational classes can take the
jobs of the traditional in class teachers. Yet I could not seem to find any information on the
database because it seemed that all the articles were against my topic so I really had to search
I eventually was able to overcome these writer block issues but towards the end of the
due date. I believe I was able to overcome these issues because I went to the Learning Resource
Center, which really came in handy because the lady who helped me really helped me understand
how to put together my essay. I also found the ability of not including the reader in the paper
made my essay a lot stronger. I was also able to look up transition words that would help my
essay flow smoother. Most importantly I began to use my time management more efficiently and
was able to find about three to five sources that I would be able to use in my essay that helped
me support my point. I believe this essay was the one I struggled with the most because I wanted
to get my point across, yet I just did not know how to do it without making it sound opinioned
based.
