To study the efficiency of training and development of employees at PRECOT
MERIDIAN LTD.
To identify the need and importance of training and development.
To analyze the implementation of training
To study the methods used for training
To analyze the feedback of employees after training

The population of the study is 450, including managerial and non managerial

SAMPLE SIZE
The sample size selected for the study is 120 non managerial employees.
DATA COLLECTION METHOD
There are two types of data:
1 Primary Data
Questionnaire and interview schedule
2 Secondary Data
Company records, journals, books, internet etc.

Duration of 45 days was utilized for the purpose of study.

LIMITATIONS OF THE STUDY

This study is concentrated to employees of PRECOT MERIDIAN


KANJIKODE- A UNIT only.
There may be personal bias of the respondents, which affect the result of the
study.
The views and preferences of the people changes from time to time, hence
the result of the project may not be applicable in the long run.
The study is conducted by selecting 120 random employees from PRECOT
MERIDIAN KANJIKODE- A UNIT. It may not reflect the opinion of entire
employees in company.

MAJOR FINDINGS
The initial training programs provided in the company are highly satisfied with
the majority of employees and its percentage is 60%. It shows the company
provided good training programs
73% of employees responded that the training increases productivity . 4.1% of
employees not supported the argument
Induction provides maximum opportunity to new comers. Most employees are
supported with this statement.65% of employees supported with this statement.
So the programs provided maximum opportunity to new comers.
Training increases technical skills of employees.79% of employees responded
for that training programs provided sufficient technical skills.
Performance of training and development provides maximum satisfaction to the
employees. 76% of employees are satisfied with the performance and
development of training programs.
Mostly selected training programs are is job instruction technique, which the
employees responded for 62.5%. Training providing through lecture programs
and conferences are very low in percentage which is only 5.3%.
Duration of training programs is maximum providing between 1 to 14 days. No
training programs provided above one month
Training materials provided during the traininjng program are efficient. 62.5%
of employees responded to some extend training materials are provided.
The training methods adopted are satisfied for 43.32% of employees.32.43% of
employees responded for dissatisfaction. So we can say that the training
programs adopted are good
The feedback implemented after the training program was satisfactory.80% of
employees responded that the feedback was strictly implemented.20% of
employees are responded for some extend

MAJOR SUGGESTIONS

After completion of training, try to organize seminars where the trainees can
share their experiences and views about the training.
The organization may try to implement strong and effective feedback
mechanism such as suggestion boxes.
Enhance good communication attitude among workers and employee

It is better to provide training calendar to all the employees at the beginning of


the session with selected topics.
The training needs should be assessed regularly by observing the performance
of employees an also from feedback.
Try to use more visual and audio aids to make trainings more interactive and
active.
