C om as novas sries de edies, a Funarte objetiva expandir a atual literatura para bandas no Brasil, quantifican-
do-a e qualificando-a, com especial nfase na utilizao dos padres tcnicos e estilsticos de cada obra, com
as devidas revises e anotaes de articulaes, dinmicas, aggicas, nomenclaturas, andamentos, marcaes de ensaio,
abreviaturas, etc. Para se aplicar a padronizao adotada pelas bandas em todo o mundo, fizeram-se necessrias adap-
taes no material original, sem contudo alterar linha meldica, harmnica e rtmica. Foi mantida a orquestrao origi-
nal, com acrscimo de novas informaes timbrsticas, possibilitando um melhor aproveitamento dos atuais instrumen-
tos. O padro adotado foi: piccolo, flauta, obo, fagote, clarineta Eb (requinta - mi bemol), clarinetas Bb (Si bemol - 3
vozes), clarineta baixo Bb (clarone), quarteto de saxofones (2 altos Eb, 1 ou 2 tenores Bb e bartono Eb), trompas F (2
a 4 vozes), trompetes Bb (3 vozes), trombones (3 vozes), bombardino, tuba, contrabaixo (cordas), tmpanos, teclados
(xilofone/bells ou glokenspiel), percusso (caixa, pratos de choque, pratos suspensos, bumbo, agog, chocalho, pandeiro,
ganz, tringulo, reco-reco, tambor, bateria completa). Em algumas obras, determinados suprimentos foram suprimidos,
como sax tenor 2 e tmpanos, por no fazerem parte da instrumentao original. Entretanto, o regente deve observar
que todo o repertrio tem sua funcionalidade garantida somente com 1 flauta, 1 clarineta Eb, 3 clarinetas Bb, 1 sax. alto
Eb, 1 sax. tenor Bb, 3 trompas F ou saxhornes Eb, 3 trompetes Bb, 3 trombones, 1 bombardino, 1 tuba e percusso
(caixa, prato e bumbo). Em todas as edies sero impressas partes extras (no inclusas na instrumentao) para sax-
hornes Eb (mi bemol), bartono Bb (si bemol) em clave de sol, alm de tubas Bb e Eb.
U m dos pontos mais discutidos em relao s tonalidades dos hinos diz respeito melhor tessitura para a voz.
Com o Hino Nacional ocorreu uma modificao fundamental, para que pudesse ser cantado pela grande
maioria da populao. Neste caso especfico do Hino da Proclamao da Repblica, foi mantido o tom original de Bb,
um tanto ou quanto alto para uma melhor execuo vocal, mas que possibilita a utilizao do naipe de cornetas e tam-
bores. Algumas modificaes foram feitas, como no flautim em Db (r bemol), transposto para piccolo em C (d).
Foram includas partes para obo e fagote, esta ltima atravs da escrita original para bartono. O procedimento foi trans-
por da clave de sol para a clave de f, em tom de efeito, resguardando toda a linha meldica. O regente deve sentir-se
vontade para utilizar o bartono, visto que no houve modificao na linha meldica. Foram tambm revistas as partes
para o naipe de clarinetas, que evitam regies agudas na requinta e na clarineta 1; a parte para para clarineta baixo foi
preparada a partir das partes do bartono e da tuba. Foi criada tambm a parte para sax alto 2. A escrita para trompetes
foi resumida para trompetes 1, 2, 3 e eventualmente 4. Foram suprimidas as partes para trompetes Eb e flugelhorn
(bugle). Os saxhorns e bartonos, assim como o sax soprano, foram suprimidos da partitura mas mantidos nas partes
individuais, como extras. A escrita para tuba, instrumento no transpositor, foi mantida em som real, com a impresso
de partes individuais para tuba C, Bb e Eb.

Todas as partes anotadas com o smbolo * so consideradas opcionais, no sendo essen-
ciais execuo da obra. As mesmas j faziam parte da instrumentao original ou foram
revisadas, objetivando a formatao da partitura nos atuais padres internacionais.

Tuba Eb
A introduo enfatiza a clula principal e mais caracterstica da melodia de Miguez. Por isso,
e em razo das dificuldades que o padro rtmico dessa clula impe, necessrio dar
toda a ateno s articulaes rtmicas da obra e diferenciar, cuidadosamente, o legato, o non lega-
to e o staccato. O contraste dinmico tambm essencial para lhe dar expressividade. O carter
marcial e patritico do Hino no deve ser confundido com invarincia ou ausncia de nuanas de
interpretao. A segunda frase da introduo tem carter inicialmente recessivo, cujo contraste
com o vigor da frase inicial deve ser enfatizado na execuo. Contudo, essa frase conseqente
retoma progressivamente o carter decisivo do incio da seo, com dois dispositivos de ampli-
ao: um primeiro de prolongao do motivo final da frase (compassos de 8 a 12), que parte da
figurao do incio da seo, e um segundo com ampliao de cadncia (compassos de 12 a 16),
que conduz Estrofe inicial do Hino.
O acompanhamento da melodia principal muito simples, no apresenta nenhum contracan-
to ou elementos de preenchimento meldico; deve ser executado inteiramente em staccato e com
elegncia. No segundo perodo da Estrofe (compasso 25), o autor inclui algumas apojaturas que
devem ser executadas com preciso e regularidade - e adiciona tambm uma nova figura rtmica
ao acompanhamento, com notas repetidas, que o caracteriza at o final do Refro. Essa seo final
da melodia recebe um nico elemento rtmico novo, no naipe de percusso: as tercinas extradas
da introduo. E o interldio preparatrio da volta Estrofe ser composto inteiramente pela
ampliao final da introduo, trecho que contm as tercinas caractersticas.
