You live in the Soviet Union under Joseph Stalin or Nazi Germany under Adolf Hitler.

Write about your experiences living under totalitarianism. Explain how the

government is using the weapons of totalitarianism.

The days are dark. People are being taken away daily and I fear the day that there is a

knock on my door. I am guilty of nothing but they will find something, I am sure of it. Deaths

have risen in the past years. Stalin's five year plan has led this country to chaos. All of my family

has died of famine and I remain the only survivor. Our country is still in peril, we fought nazi

germany because Stalin disagreed with them but I fear we are becoming more and more like

them everyday.

Stalin uses tanks and armored cars to stop riots and I hear that he has monitored

telephone lines and even read our mail. None of us are safe, he is said to have spies everywhere.

He is forcing obedience on us and we must surrender or we will end up dead. As the days

continue more propaganda is spread on the streets. We receive lectures pertaining to the ideals of

communism. My neighbors kids are seen toting to and from youth group everyday, the future of

our country is in the hands of these kids who are being brainwashed with the nonsense and unjust

rules of the Communist Party. The word on our achievements is spread through the radio waves

and newspaper articles. More and more posters are popping up and I see images being painted on

buildings. There will be backlash to all of this propaganda, i've have already seen signs and

posters fighting the communist idealistic, they do not stay up for more than a few hours and the

perpetrators are found and taken away mere days after the incident.
 HIs eyes are everywhere, anything against his beliefs or ideas he censors. The

government controls all newspapers, motion pictures, radio and all other sources of information.

Books are being banned and everything that is entertaining has been injected with communist

idealists. The party is feeding us lie after lie and the sad part is we dont know they are lies. No

other news source is there to tell the people that its all lies. As well as the lies stalin is also

controlling our religious beliefs. No religion besides atheism is allowed and groups of the atheist

are spreading propaganda and attacking other religious groups. We know stalin is behind these

attacks and there is no one to stop them. Our country has gone to shit.

Yet there is still hope. Small uprisings have been noticed popping up and their attacks

have been getting stronger and stronger every day. Stalin is slowly starting to drift his attention

away from a strict rule and is starting to take notice of hitler's rising power from the west. There

are rumours that hitler is planning on invading our country. If true our leader may back down on

his own citizens but this faces a whole new threat to us, the people. God save and pray for us, we

will need all the help we can get.
