A brief theory of contrast between female and male perspective-propensities.
Abstract
This paper suggests that, regarding social behavior, male
brains are predisposed to perceive competition, whereas
female brains are predisposed to perceive animosity. The
suggested perception-predispositions are thought of as
neurological propensities that statistically correlate to
respective genders. This paper acknowledges the likelihood
that these neurological propensities are occasionally absent
or gender-reversed.
Introduction
Characteristics of human gender are the result of
physiology and culture. Correctly recognizing, and
determining the causal factors, of gender characteristics is
often difficult and controversial.
When discussing gender characteristics, care should be
taken to recognize the presence and substance of culture
engineering.
This paper seeks to (1) increase awareness of gender-
oriented perception-predispositions and (2) encourage
individuals to consciously affect their own behavior with
respect to the positive and negative propensities of their
own predisposition.
A Theory of Human Perspective-Propensity
Throughout the course of evolution, human males and
females performed different social roles. Males typically
performed the role of hunter and gatherer. Females
typically performed the role of nester and nurturer. The
challenges associated with each role caused each gender to
evolve (develop) distinct strengths.
Males. As a hunter and gatherer, males experienced
competition. Males compete against prey (which sought to
avoid being eaten) and other males (which sought to
acquire the same prey or resources). Males also
experienced competition from other males regarding
procreation opportunities with females. As a result, males
developed the natural propensity to perceive competition.
This male perception-propensity is still a valuable human
ability and enables desirable male behavior. However, this
human ability can cause males to exhibit socially
dysfunctional behavior. For example, males are prone to
invent unnecessary competition, or perceive competition
where it does not exist. Males will benefit by (1) being more
aware of situations in which they feel competition and (2)
consciously behaving in ways that prevent unnecessary, or
dysfunctional, conflict.
Female. As a nester and nurturer, females experienced
environmental and social hostility. Females birthed and
nurtured children while protecting them against threats
and relying on the male(s) for resources. Females also
experienced animosity from things that reduced male
hunter/gatherer ability or male attention. As a result,
females developed the natural propensity to perceive
animosity. This female perception-propensity is still a
valuable human ability and enables desirable female
behavior. However, this human ability can cause females
to exhibit socially dysfunctional behavior. For example,
females are prone to invent unnecessary villains, or
perceive threats that do not exist. Females will benefit by
(1) being more aware of situations in which they feel
hostility and (2) consciously behaving in ways that prevent
unnecessary, or dysfunctional, villain-victim mentalities.
