Question: What is the best way for me to become involved in my community?

Below is a table of the places I completed my research. I believe these were useful because I was able to find out new
information about my topic. I found there was a lot of information available about my topic, but not all was relevant to
my specific question of What is the best way for me to become involved in my community? The most useful source
was Volunteering Australia. They had many resources for me and also linked to other organisations more local to me.
Source types I used included both websites and also primary sources interviews with local volunteers. What I learnt
about researching through this process is that not everything comes to you. You actually have to go and find
information. I also learnt that teachers are very valuable if you ask questions, especially for my topic. Organizing
interviews can be difficult and I had to make sure I recorded their responses effectively. There are many teachers at my
school that volunteer and they were very helpful in finding out about roles that you can do.
If I had to this again I would try to get involved in a community organization or even the local council as they have a big
volunteering component.
By using sources, I was able to develop my research to effectively find information and processes on ways I can get
involved in my local community.
