RBK: is the mind (consciousness) and the soul considered to be the same ?

El : yis
RBK: how can you interpret it being the same ?
El: we have a body & the mind+soul which r feelings & thoughts, so a soul imo i
s just a name for religious feelings & thoughts.
RBK: Thessalonians 5:23 says, And the God of peace Himself sanctify you wholly, a
nd may your spirit and soul and body be preserved complete, without blame, at th
e coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
why christians interpret them as being different ?
El: Because christians believe that It's function is spiritual to contact and rece
ive God Himself. Once we receive the Lord into our spirit by believing in Him, w
e can live our human lives in continuous contact with the Lord by using our spir
it.
RBK: Hebrews 4:12 makes an even finer distinction, saying, For the word of God is
living and operative and sharper than any two-edged sword, and piercing even to
the dividing of soul and spirit and of joints and marrow, and able to discern t
he thoughts and intentions of the heart.
From this verse, we can understand that the soul and the spirit are so close to
one another that the two require the word of God to divide them, to separate the
m from each other.
El: k, u r right... now i know.
