Annual Grand Dinner 2017

Speech for Advisor of IEMSS UTHM, Prof. Madya Ir. Dr. Goh Hui Hwang

A very good evening to the representative of the chairman of IEM Southern Branch, Ir
So Wee Siang, the chairman of IEM Southern Branch-Young Engineering Section, Dr Lee
Sian Wei, Chairman of IEMss UTHM, Mr. Khong Yan Theng ,the program director of Annual
Grand Dinner 2017, Mr Koo Er Jie , the committees from IEM Southern Branch and IEM
Southern Branch Young Engineer Section, the program committees and all the beloved
guests.

As an advisor of The Institution of Engineers Malaysia (Student Section) of UTHM, it

is an absolute pleasure for me to attend The Annual Grand Dinner 2017. IEM is a society
established to promote and advance the Science and Profession of Engineering in any or all
its disciplines and to facilitate the exchange of information and ideas related to Engineering.
A lot of activities had been conducted by IEMSS-UTHM throughout the year, such as Route
to Ir Talk, More to Explore Engineering Workshop, Career and Innovation Fair 2017 and
Obstacle Challenge 2017.

To all the IEMSS-UTHM Board Committees 2016/2017, you have my gratitude for
organizing all the extraordinary events. The entire event was truly enjoyable. I appreciate the
time, effort and hard work of the committees. To be frank, I was impressed by the
organisation of IEMSS-UTHM when they came out with the idea of holding such program.
Seeing that they are proactive and determined to run this program, I surely give my full
support to them and provide some advices when they need.

To the outgoing IEMSS-UTHM Board Committees 2016/2017, thank you for a job,
well done. Rest assure that the IEMSS-UTHM Board Committees will emulate your glorious
achievements of the past two terms. On this evening, I am happy to report that in this new
board committee work has already begun. I strongly believe the new committees will
definitely put in all their heart and soul in order to hit a higher target in future

I would end my speech today with a quote: Coming together is a beginning; keeping
together is progress; Working together is success. Thank you, enjoy your dinner and have a
nice day.
